Vanakam .I am trying to understand the exact meaning and origin of the Tamil name **“Athiran” (ஆதிரன**்).

I have seen different explanations online such as:
- It being linked to Lord Murugan
-Some saying it is related to the Aadhirai (Thiruvathirai) nakshatra, but I think for male , it should be aadhiraiyan
-Some websites giving meanings like “brave” or “leader”
-And a few references suggesting it means “great person”

However, I could not find a clear or classical Tamil literary source that confirms the exact meaning or usage of this word.

Is “ஆதிரன்” a classical Tamil word or mainly a modern name? What is its exact meaning in proper Tamil context (if any)?

I would really appreciate insights from those well-versed in Tamil language and literature.
