SWV Renewal Timeline (Inside UK) - Standard Service -Applied July 7th (SOC 3120) - Anyone in the same boat?

Hey everyone!
I applied for my Skilled Worker Visa renewal (in-country) on July 7th using the standard service. My job falls under SOC 3120 (Draughtspersons / CAD technicians).
I know the official Home Office service standard is 8 weeks (which puts my 8-week target around September 1st), but I wanted to poll the community to see what current turnaround times are looking like for standard applications submitted in late June / early July.

In-Country Skilled Worker Switch - Timeline Question After Photo Re-Upload & Acknowledgement Email

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in the middle of an in-country Skilled Worker (Change of Employer) application and wanted to ask if anyone has experienced a similar timeline or photo re-upload process recently

My Timeline:
7 July: Submitted Skilled Worker application (in-country switch) via UK Immigration: ID Check app.
14 July: BRP requested.
21 July: Received email requesting a new photo (previous photo rejected for smiling/expression). Resubmitted new photo on 22 July.
29 July: Received automated UKVI acknowledgement email: "Thank you for your visa application which has now been received by UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI)..."

Questions for the community:

  1. Estimated Time for Approval: For those who had to re-upload a photo or minor document, how long after receiving this automated "application received" acknowledgement email did your final decision letter arrive? Does this mean the file is back with the caseworker for final sign-off, or does it reset processing?
  2. Resignation / Notice Period Advice: My current employer requires a strict 1 calendar month notice period (1st to the end of the month) to start at my new sponsor on 1 September. Should I hand in my resignation before the official visa decision arrives, or is it strictly recommended to wait until the approval letter is in hand? When is the best time to resign?
  3. Would really appreciate any insights, timelines, or advice from people who have been through this! Thanks in advance.

68-year-old manager power-tripped because I checked my phone for a medical booking. Here is his unhinged email reply.

Context: I am a young engineer who has been at this company for three years with flawless performance reviews. Yesterday, I took out my phone for literally 60 seconds to complete an urgent medical booking for a GP appointment. An Associate Director (who has been here 42 years) walked past, openly stared over my shoulder at my screen, and publicly lectured me in front of my entire row.

An Associate Director (who has been here 42 years) walked past, openly snooped over my shoulder at my personal device, and publicly lectured me in front of my entire row

I sent him a polite message setting a boundary, stating that it was an urgent health matter, it was a private device, and that his actions made me uncomfortable. This image is the email he sent back to me, CC’ing the Director, where he literally tells me he 'sees no reason' why I should feel uncomfortable.

I'm already leaving this company in a few weeks for a much better offer, so I'm mostly just posting this for a sanity check. Is this level of surveillance, instant targeting, and arrogance normal in modern workplaces, or is this completely toxic?

Switching from PSW to Skilled Worker Dependent (Unmarried Partner) - Apply together or wait for main approval?

Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice on the safest application strategy / timing for my partner and me.

Our Situation:
Main Applicant (Me): My company is about to apply for my CoS. Once I get the CoS reference number, I’ll be applying for my Skilled Worker Visa from inside the UK, paying the fees and IHS myself.

Dependent (My Partner): He is currently in the UK on a Graduate Visa (PSW), which expires in January 2027.

Relationship Status: We are unmarried partners but have been living together in the UK for more than 2 full years and 8years in relationship (we have a paper trail of joint tenancies, utility bills, bank statements, etc.).

My Question:
Is it safer to apply for his dependent visa at the exact same time as mine (by linking his application to my main application via the family linking code), OR should I wait until my Skilled Worker Visa is fully approved first, and then have him apply to switch later?
I’ve heard mixed things about whether it’s riskier for an unmarried partner dependent to apply simultaneously with the main applicant vs. waiting for the main visa to be granted first.
Would love to hear from anyone who has switched an unmarried partner from a PSW to a Skilled Worker Dependent inside the UK. Did you apply together or sequentially? Any major pitfalls we should watch out for with the 2-year cohabitation evidence when doing a joint application?
Thanks in advance!

Stuck with 3 UK sponsored offers. Managing backups & safe resignation timing?

I have been stuck at my current company for years and just received 3 visa-sponsored offers in one week!!! Very happy about it but have fee doubts…

Company A is a massive global consultancy and my absolute dream choice.
Company A: Did ID verification yesterday. HR is sending the contract within 24–48 hours, then they will issue the CoS.

Company B: Doesn't have a sponsor license yet but keeps pressing for my visa details. I told them I need until Friday to decide.

Company C: Gave a verbal offer Monday; said they allocate visas in July.

My current company requires a strict full calendar month notice period. If I miss the June 30th deadline, my notice won't start until July 1st, meaning I'm legally trapped there until August 31st. I desperately want to avoid this.
I feel massive guilt keeping Company B and C on the hook when I know I want Company A, but I cannot risk being left with nothing if the visa hits a snag.

My concern is-
How do I strategically manage these three companies over the next 10 days? Given that Company A is a global giant and very unlikely to have visa issues, is it safe to reject Company B and C and hand in my notice the second I sign Company A's employment contract, or must I still wait for the official CoS number to be in my hand?
I feel guilty of keeping 2 companies on hold as they are trying everything to get me on board.
