Just a rant and sharing my real observations with various doctors. Here is what I noticed with due respect to the job they are doing.

Lack of basic respect and empathy for other hospital staff

Stop behaving like demigods and look down on other staff members. You can talk nice to your colleagues. I think the other staff are simply bearing this behavior just for the sake of their job and family. If this was same in any other place there wouldn’t be any tolerance and indeed sue them and fucking resign on the face in a heart beat.

Zero Sense of time

They never show up on time for pre booked appointments. Although this is not a complete blame on doctors, the greedy hospital management is also responsible for overbooking appointments. One thing i also noticed with visitors herd mentality and lack of self respect towards ones own time. They all standup like a cult and greet the doctor even after long wait of hours. The freaking doc doesn’t even apologize or acknowledge for being late. Why can’t they use and follow a basic scheduling procedure.

Develop some patience to listen and explain

Just listen to the completion. Don’t just dismiss the opinions right away and please bother to explain about the cause, prevention and care. At least have some basic templates and print or write it on the appointment notes so that at least the visitors can read later and save their medical history.
