My Hopes for Jubilee in Rivals (If she is coming next season)
Jubilee is my favourite Marvel character and one of my favourite characters of all time, so I will probably main her regardless of how she is handled; but here are some things I'd like to see out of her.
- Jubilee is a strategist: Despite many people calling her 'DPS-coded', I could see solid potential for her to be a strategist. I basically permanently play support( as I can't trust my team for shit), so any further diversity to the roster would be greatly appreciated.
2. No ships: Part of the reason I love Jubilee as a character so much is how malleable she is in terms of the team dynamic; there never really feels like there's a disconnect between her role inside and outside the battlefield, allowing her personality to remain incredibly consistent across runs. But by dragging her into the messy love-triangle fest most of the other X-Men inhabit I find it reductive and limiting to her characterisation. So personally I would love her to be aroace and just keep strong friendly dynamics with the rest of her fellow mutants.
3: A team up with Wolverine: Logan is probably the most pivotal character to her development in canon, given his role as mentor and kind of older brother/cool uncle relationship so a team-up to reference that would be adorable. Though given how many team-ups NetEase seem to be giving Wolvie, I would hold my breath on it.
4. Holly Chou to voice her: This is likely a given due to Rogue, Gambit and Cyclops sharing the same VAs from X-Men '97, but Holly's performance cemented her as my definitive Jubilee voice, so her addition would be fantastic
5. A special voice line trigger with Shogo Lee: As he appears on the Krakoa domination map, it would be cool if it triggered a special interaction with her son when he's perched above the zone in his dragon form. Idk if there's anything more to say about this one, I think it'd just be so cute(and the most acknowledgement Marvel will give her adopted son for the next 10 years)
Idk if any of these will happen, but I can dream.
