My 5 year old will not stop terrorizing the cats

I am completely out of ideas and at my wits end. For the past year, my son has been more or less terrorizing our 3 cats. He chases them, screams in their faces, picks them up against their will and will occasionally try to hit or kick one when he thinks nobody is watching. Earlier he (lightly) tried to strangle the cat, according to my father in law. None of the cats have actually been injured and they appear to be unbothered. We have tried talking to him about it (cats have feelings, we want to be nice to animals, etc). We've put him in timeout. We've taken away things from him. I thought after he got used to the cats, harassing them wouldn't be so intriguing for him. I was wrong. It's been a year and it is a DAILY issue. I don't want to re-home our animals because this is the only home they've ever known and they would probably end up in a shelter. Not to mention, two of them are very close (from the same litter) and I think separating them would break their hearts. Please, tell me how I can get him to stop bullying our pets.

Have I reversed insulin resistance?

Unfortunately, I do not have a starting point for my fasting insulin levels. My doctor didn't get labs from me when she first decided I was probably insulin resistant. I'd had a persistent vitamin D deficiency (despite daily supplements for close to a year) and had migraines/lethargy when I ate anything carby. She got my fasting insulin last week, per my request, after I took metformin for several months. It was 9.3. From my understanding, this is within normal range. I've also lost about 5-10 lbs without actually doing anything different. I don't have food noise as much and I'm kind of disinterested in eating when it is time to eat. I've somewhat cut down on carbs but I definitely wasn't able to keep them below 50 net grams per day.

The reason I'm confused is that I've noticed if I miss my metformin for a day or so, I start getting headaches if I haven't eaten and especially if I have a sugary coffee without eating anything. Is this normal for people without insulin resistance?

ID + advice for flea market plant

I need an ID for both plants and advice for restoring their health. Got it from the flea market and the plant closer to the unicorn's head has a lot of dead leaves. The one in the back seems relatively healthy but I'm pretty sure this pot isn't big enough for both of them. I'm a little nervous about separating them, however.

Accidentally took shrooms with acid on them, drowsiness side effect has me concerned

So last night my SO and I got 3.5g from a new person and we realized pretty shortly into our trip that it had acid on it. I've taken both shrooms and acid in the past and this was definitely an acid trip. I definitely took too much considering I'm not a regular tripper and I didn't really know what I was actually taking. The walls were melting, it rained under my eyelashes and my cat looked like an old man. He took 2 g and I took about 1.5. All in all, it wasn't a bad trip for me but I am super concerned about the drowsiness it gave both of us. At several points, I nodded out and so did he. This isn't something I've ever heard of or experienced. Any insight?

Impulse control building exercises for 5 year olds

As of lately, my son's impulse control has been somewhat.. dangerous. Yesterday morning he took a sip out of a random cup that apparently had been sitting on a picnic table outside of his grandpa's work for days. Last night he swallowed a dime and we spent most of last night in the emergency room. He put something random in his mouth in the hospital bathroom as well which was super unsanitary. It seems like the older he gets, the worse his impulse control is. It's all kind of thrown me off guard because he never really put random stuff in his mouth as a toddler and has begun doing it lately. He knows the dangers of just putting stuff in his mouth so I'm sure most of it is impulse control. He will just be hanging out and doing fine then he shoves something in his mouth that doesn't belong there. I'm hoping somebody has some tips? Advice? Resources?
