I have a Maytag MDB4949SKB3 with the supposed “self-cleaning” system. Suddenly, a stringy gunk has permeated my system and this machine has only a user facing coarse catch cup. I’ve scrubbed down the seals, taken the bottom of the tub apart and cleaned it out, and uninstalled the dishwasher, pump, and cleaned the filter. Several cycles with vinegar still leaves this wet dog funk on every dish and I’m losing it, what is left to be done with a machine like this?
