A Second Copy of Dark Ritual (kinda)

This week we review an oldie but a goodie - Songs of the Damned. Seen play in just 0.4% of decks in 64+ player tournaments- Songs of the Damned can provide an explosive amount of mana at instant speed.

Setup is REQUIRED - but we dive deep into how this can be a lot easier than people expect. Whether you're milling, wheeling, or even just sacrificing your own stuff!

Have you played Songs of the Damned in your cEDH list? If so, when have you found it to be most effective?

Protection + Haste. Is it worth paying a premium for Rhythm of the Wild?

This week we review a fringe card that has seen a sprinkling of play in 64+ player tournaments in the past 6 months: RHYTHM OF THE WILD

While most protection pieces like Dosan or Grand Abolisher provide just potent protection, Rhythm of the Wild provides both protection and proactivity. Is the reduction in protection worth the marginal benefit this card provides? Some lists think so!

Have you played Rhythm of the Wild in your cEDH list? If so, what list?

Mono Green Tech In Other Lists? The Case for Shared Summons

This week, we review a card described as "It's Like Two Demonic Tutors.... for Creature Decks!"- Shared Summons.

Seeing play in many mono Green lists throughout the years- this card currently sits at a 0.9% playrate in tournaments. The ceiling: an intuition-style one card wincon. The floor: eating a dispel after spending 5 mana.

Do you play shared summons in your list? If so, what list?

If you play a big-mana creature based green deck - have you tested this card?

Time to Tech in a Free Board Wipe? Thoughts on Massacre?

This week- we review an oldie but a goodie- Massacre!

While Glarb pilots may know the power of this card, the greater meta may be interested in testing this awesome tech piece.

In today's episode- we worked with a statistician to estimate how often this card is "online" in the greater tournament meta (Thanks Joe!). Say goodbye to your opponent's powerful 1/2 toughness creatures- and HELLO to a less mucked up board state!

Do you play Massacre in your cEDH list? If so, what list?

.1% Play Rate Spice- Dryad Militant

This week we deep dive into a very very fringe piece that can shine in the current meta.

Dryad Militant

Seen in only 8/8000 of the past 64+ player tournament lists, Dryad Militant attacks the current meta in a very unique way. Not only can the replacement effect stop flashback- or breach dependent lists- but it also prevents the “reloading” of counterspells many control decks try to do.

All for the low low cost of 1 mana. If you’re a fan of graf cage, you may want to consider the graf cage that also ups your cradle count!

What are your thoughts on Dryad Militant? How potent would it be at thwarting both the turbo AND control lists at the table?

Generic Brand Smothering Tithe - Is Curse of Opulence Playable Outside of Rog/Ishai?

This week, we talk about a card that has seen HUGE success in large tournaments- Curse of Opulence. All tournament wins in the past 3 months including this card have been Rog/Ishai lists.

If a high card quality control list can find success running this card, can other (especially non-Roger) lists consider it as well?

Do you run Curse of Opulence in your CEDH list? If so, at what rate are you making gold? Do you ever target yourself?

Seeing play in a little over 2% of CEDH lists in 64+ player tournaments in the past 3 months, 18 lists have seen top cuts and two have won! Of these lists, about 40% were Inalla, leaving a good chunk of diversity testing this card!

With Valley Floodcaller becoming a cornerstone card of the format, could Step Through become more viable than ever before?

Do you play Step Through in your list? If so, what wizards are you able to tutor for?

Seen in only .8% of decks in 64+ player tournaments in the past 3 months - Notion Thief has seen some success- making 7 top cuts.

A few years back, Notion Thief was considered a top-tier card that had entire strategies built around it.

After the printing of OBM, it's play rate dropped DRAMATICALLY.

With many top performing decks cutting OBM, and 1/1 heavy Cradle decks finding success- we decided it was time to open up the conversation on Notion Thief again!

Do you play Notion Thief in your CEDH list? How often are you seeing OBM played in your meta?
