I'm a DC guy, but I have a small Marvel collection. I'm currently trying to buy the full run of ASM by Lee/Romita.

This should be an easy task. There should be like 5 editions of this run in print. But nope... not a single trade, hardcover, OHC, epic collection or omnibus is available for huge gaps of this run.

Am I crazy or are these not the most sought after runs for their biggest characters? The characters that built their house...they can't keep Spider-Man and X-Men or any other flagship character's most sought after runs in print for newcomers to buy?

There is just no excuse for this Marvel... these books will sell and keep selling til the end of time because they are two of the most important runs by your biggest characters. idfc if you wanna limit your stock, but there is feasibly no limit to these two runs. Restocks should be checked if they're needed every 3-4 months.

...And yes I made this post because I'm mad. And I refuse to engage with the 2nd hand market price-gouging.

Yes I know they've reprinted Goblins Last Stand Epic and Spider-Man No More is coming next month. And I was able to find Petrified Tablet for cover at my LCS. But what about Death of Captain Stacy or Goblin Lives? What about Great Power and Great Responibility? I only have the first 50 issues cause I bought the old ass masterwork tpbs second hand.

Purchased more than I have in a long while this June. The damage wasn't too bad though, took advantage of some great sales.

I may have to fast track that Jimmy Olsen deluxe onto my reading list. Looks like such a good time and there's so many extras that explore the history of his silver/bronze age comics, which i always love learning about.

Set up a time to meet and then was given a fake number

I go to a climbing gym quite often, I used to go with my buddy 3x a week but he injured himself bout a month back. It's still fun to go climb alone, but I do miss going with someone. Today I met a girl at the gym, she came up to me and asked if it was okay to leash her dog next to where I was climbing. I said, yes of course (I love doggos).

We climbed and talked and I pet her dog for a good 30-45 minutes between climbs. She was really sweet. And we seemed to have good chemistry. So I asked if she had a partner she usually climbs with, she said no, she usually goes alone and I told her my story about my friend being hurt. And then I said " I like climbing alone, but its different" A while after this she went and climbed in a different area. (In my mind she left because she thought I wanted to climb alone, but she very well could have just wanted to climb something else).

I was slightly bummed cause I was thinking of asking her if she wanted to climb together sometime. But I continued to climb various things for 20-30 more minutes. When I was ready to leave the gym, I just felt this massive urge to go and talk to her again and knew I'd regret it if I didn't. I never approach girls like this outside of a bar scenario, cause I just never feel confident enough, unless I'm like 5 drinks in it just never feels right.

Regardless, for whatever reason I felt absolutely comfortable going up to this girl again, so I did it. I realized I didn't even know her name yet, so I asked for hers and gave her my own. I asked her if she wanted to climb sometime and she said, "Yea sure, I got classes usually. But I can climb this same time next week." I said, "that works for me, where do you go to school?" She told me where and I told her where I go then asked her what her major was, she said, "fine arts" and then I said, "that's cool, I go for accounting". She laughed and said, "Those couldn't be more different". I chuckled and said, "Yea, well I was originally going for film."

And this is where I guess I got too ballsy. I asked, " Hey are you comfortable giving me your number?" And she said sure and put her number in my phone. Now I'd be lying if I said I wasnt interested in this girl, but my main motivation for getting her number was to keep in contact so we could plan to climb together. My second motivation was just to prove to myself that I could do this, I could approach a girl and ask her number and be okay no matter what her decision was.

When i got home, I texted her my name so she could have my number too if she wanted. But it's been a full day and she hasn't read it...so I assume she gave me a fake..

So now I'm sitting here wondering. Was she just afraid of giving me her real number, but also afraid of saying no to giving it? Even though I asked if she was comfortable doing so?

Was she uncomfortable at my first advance when I asked her to climb and was just complying with my advances to get me to go away?

Did she just put in her number wrong...?

Should I even try to meet her to climb at the same time next week?

I know now, I should have just given her my own number and put the ball in her hands whether or not she wanted to reach out. And I realize girls have to play it safer, cause there's a lot of dangers out there.

But I guess I just don't know where to go from here. Should I just let it all go?
