Why is it so hard to buy the most important runs in Marvel's flagship characters' history? Why does marvel not understand that these are continuously wanted by new readers and old readers alike? They are literally leaving money on the table every day these are out of print.
I'm a DC guy, but I have a small Marvel collection. I'm currently trying to buy the full run of ASM by Lee/Romita.
This should be an easy task. There should be like 5 editions of this run in print. But nope... not a single trade, hardcover, OHC, epic collection or omnibus is available for huge gaps of this run.
Am I crazy or are these not the most sought after runs for their biggest characters? The characters that built their house...they can't keep Spider-Man and X-Men or any other flagship character's most sought after runs in print for newcomers to buy?
There is just no excuse for this Marvel... these books will sell and keep selling til the end of time because they are two of the most important runs by your biggest characters. idfc if you wanna limit your stock, but there is feasibly no limit to these two runs. Restocks should be checked if they're needed every 3-4 months.
...And yes I made this post because I'm mad. And I refuse to engage with the 2nd hand market price-gouging.
Yes I know they've reprinted Goblins Last Stand Epic and Spider-Man No More is coming next month. And I was able to find Petrified Tablet for cover at my LCS. But what about Death of Captain Stacy or Goblin Lives? What about Great Power and Great Responibility? I only have the first 50 issues cause I bought the old ass masterwork tpbs second hand.
