Got lucky and got a replacement brand new 15 Pro Max

Yesterday, I took my phone for a scheduled out-of-warranty (OW) repair to replace the battery that was at 78% health. I went to their Michigan Ave store in Chicago, so it was a bit busy. After dropping it off and waiting the 1.5 hours, I checked in and was informed that they did not even begin the repair since the store was out of the adhesive they would need. I had two options: come back tomorrow and get it replaced, or swap my existing 15PM that I’ve had since day 1 with a brand new 15PM, for the same price as an OW fix, $99. Obviously, I went for the replacement since I’m not planning on upgrading anytime soon and want to continue to use the 15PM as long as possible.

So far, the phone feels so fresh and much snappier. My old 15PM was starting to get laggy, aside from the terrible daily battery life. Just wanted to share my experience, from having one of the first made 15PM to one made this year!

Need a push!

I’m considering my first cruise ever and i think i landed on the one. It’d be on the Beyond ship leaving out of Fort Lauderdale, going to St.Thomas, Puerto Plata, San Juan, and Bahamas. It’d be in December and looks like there’s a summer sale going on that i was able to hold the price for a few days til i decide.

About me and my fiancé: This trip would be for my 30th birthday, and we both enjoy beach vacations. I’m more of an excursion kinda traveler and she’s more of a hotel, sleep in and relax kind of traveler. She’s been to PR and had a great time but it’d be my first time. We both drink so we are considering the drink package.

I’m in between doing a trip like this cruise, or sticking with an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. We’ve been to Cancun once before and had a good time, but never all-inclusive and would be satisfied doing that again. But I’m itching to see some islands and go somewhere that isn’t Mexico which we frequently go to (outside of Cancun)

The questions:

  • Is this a good value, and is the sense of urgency real? Meaning if i miss the summer sale, would i be out-of-luck on this price?
  • is the drink package really worth it? If i don’t add it when i book, can i add it at a later time?
  • what should we budget for food, and excursions on the destinations. Assuming we don’t splurge and just spend enough to enjoy our time.
