Squeeeeee!! 127 arrived today and I am in love! I even gathered the courage to try my first painted eyelashes removal! I just did the bottom ones for now — I think I want to remove the upper ones too since she will be played with and sleep at times, but I didn’t have time today and am still debating. Thoughts? Pictures of yours with upper removal also?

Also, I feel like some lent is sitting on the surface of her eyeballs from q-tips and I can’t seem to get it off. Any advice?

I got 44, but she came with a surprise — her wig is horribly off-placed! I’m currently trying to remove it to put it back on in a better position, but it is glued WELL! But additionally, it is dryyyyyyyyy.

How do I fix this gal up? I’ve never restored any wigs, much less a curly one or one with more texture! (So start with the basics too please!). Thanks!

Before I glue, does this look like the right placement? And/or can I please see pics of your Kit wigs from all angles so I know what I’m going for? Thanks!!

I’ve been working to gather complete sets of various historical outfits, but sometimes substitutions have to be made!

How strict are you on your collection, or do you like to make some of your own styling decisions that go along with the outfit’s generally feel?

ETA: Please ignore the green hair clips, those are holding her hair in place to hide a bad haircut and I didn’t feel like switching out the clips since I’m hoping to rewig her soon! :)

Really hard to get a picture that shows it well, but this doll has some sort of residue in multiple places on her face. It seems like maybe glue? It is definitely not just shine. She also has it on her eyelids. How do I remove it? I haven’t really tried anything yet because I’m scared since it is her face! Thanks!

Took my girls to the new DC store today. We had never been to the old one until we did the quickest of looks as we returned home from a trip and had like 30 mins to glance around on the day it was closing! We were sad the other location was closing, but honestly we were really impressed today! Even though the new location is smaller and doesn’t have a cafe, the displays all seemed really well done (possibly even better than the old location?). Now we just need to hit NYC or Chicago sometime for a BIG experience!

Also it is SO funny how certain things look SO much better IRL than in stock photos but then other things are the opposite!

I picked up a couple of these at Michael’s today, but now I’m second guessing whether I should have bought more or whether I should return them!

Has anyone used them? Do you think it would work? My plan would be to put complete outfits in each of the small containers with some sort of pretty labels. I figure boots wouldn’t fit but that most shoes would, but will I have to fold outfits so much that this is a bad idea?

The goal is to give each of my daughters a case filled with all of the (historical) outfits for their dolls so that each outfit and its accessories can be kept together. (This would be a Christmas present for them as I work toward building collections for Sam, Felicity, Kirsten, Molly, Addy, Kit, Caroline, Elizabeth, Emily, Cecile, Raquel, and maybe / hopefully Rebecca, Julie, Courtney, Nellie, and Josefina!)

Hi everyone! I’m newly back into AG and have some questions!

(For background, I was obsessed as a child, and had 5 of the first 6 historicals. When I was ready to pass them to my daughters I found out they had been stolen, and I’m now trying to build up what was lost and more, plus having some custom mini-mes made!)

1. For the customs of me and my daughters, should we take them to AG to get their ears pierced, or should we do it ourselves? I’m sure the experience would be fun, but aside from the cost, I like the thought of smaller holes that accept regular instead of doll earrings!

2. Contemplating painting the toenails on my mini-me (Blaire). Is this a good or bad idea? I was thinking probably the same color as her lips. Thoughts? Tips? Warnings? I don’t envision ever trying to sell her, but obviously you never know what could happen.

3. My Blaire came with fake eyelash decals that look AWESOME when her eyes are open but so stupid when her eyes are closed. My girls will def be playing with her, so she won’t always be awake. I was contemplating trying to add falsies to her lashlines. Does anyone recommend specific ones and/or any tips on doing this?

4. I have a mole on my face à la Cindy Crawford. I’m thinking about adding it onto Blaire (which is actually the only thing she needs to become me!). Do I do it on the correct side or mirrored? Technically it should be to her right, but it looks so weird to me that way because I’m used to seeing myself in the mirror! Also, any tips on what to use to put it on temporarily to see how I feel about it?

I’m really wanting to get the Molly birthday dress. I’ve found one on Etsy that seems pretty close, but I’m not sure if I should buy a new re-creation versus a secondhand actual AG one. I haven’t found any particularly great deals, so prices are pretty similar. Any advice, both for this dress and for other historical outfits?

I’m having a really hard time bonding with my (daughter’s) new Samantha, and I’m actually favoring new Kirsten, even though Sam was always my favorite! I’m not sure what’s going on.

I do know the non-functional locket is killing me, so I’m going to need to replace that. I’ve found a fully metal version and a version with a burgundy fabric bow. Which would my doll have had? And would my doll have had the bow that matched her dress or the one that matched her belt? I got my last doll, Josefina, for Christmas the year she came out, and Samantha was my first, so I’m guessing I probably got her in 1995. I definitely had the white border books, but it looks like those may have shown her both ways?

Alternatively, can anyone show me your Sams with the burgundy hair bow and/or brooch bow, and/or weigh in on which replacement brooch I should get? This is really bumming me out!

Can anyone confirm if you get double points on a second order? The two sentences seem to suggest opposite answers! I think I “need” to get more Hill House dresses!
