Hey all 👋 Warcry T/O here looking for some input from y'all.

So, I'm a long-time Warcry player based in the UK and I've run a few competitive tournaments over the years which have always seemed to be well-received. That said, I'm aware that competitive Warcry doesn't cater for everybody, and I'm conscious of the fact that there's a large subset of the community who might want to come to events to meet fellow players, display their minis and roll some dice without the pressure of a strictly 'competitive' format.

I'm gearing up to host my first narrative event (not gonna call it a tournament!) this autumn and wanted to ask what the barriers are/were to people when it comes to attending your first event?

Is it a perception of the kind of players who might be there (humourless win-at-all-costs types), time pressure, not wanting to play several games in a day or a combination of other factors? There's no silly answers, I promise.

From my personal experience, I expected everyone at my first Warcry tournament to be dead-behind-the-eyes competitive types - and that preconception lasted until the initiative phase of my first game, I'm glad to report 😅
