Is it more of a lateral move to upgrade to a 833 from a 633?

Im interested in buying an 8 series. I already have a 633. What are the pros/cons of upgrading to a 833? Aside from the battery usage.

I like the 633 a lot! Its just sometimes i find myself needing more gain on the last 3 channels. Also the limiter kinda suck on those channels.

How many batteries would it take to get through the day with an 833 and a few lectro dual receivers?

What are we using for antenna distribution systems?

I own the PSC Multi for my 633 bag that is obviously overkill. I also believe it doesnt really have any sort of filtering built in. What are we using these days? Something with nice filtering

Is it just the theater im seeing it in, or is it incredibly hard to understand Christopher Nolan's dialog mix?

Every Chris Nolan film i have ever scene requires me to honestly put way too much effort into listening to his dialog. As in- its usually mixed so poorly and eq'd in a manner to where its almost impossible for me to understand unless I put a considerable effort into listening for it to the point where it's almost exhausting.

Its like trying to talk to your friend at a house party in a crowded room. Youre constantly asking them "WHAT?" and leaning into them while they yell into your ear.

It sounds like he relies heavily on lavs- and almost always never removes that weird mid boost that they produce if they're placed to close to under the chin.

Is it just me? I had a horrible time trying to understand the dialog in the odyssey.

Are there any timecode systems that will do playback timecode? (for times when we are hired to do playback for music videos)

Hey guys, I've done a few playback gigs for music videos in my day. I'm also looking to upgrade my timecode setup. I've got a few JB-1s that are getting old. (They're great; I just want to try something new)

In the past, when I have done playback for music videos, I would feed a playback timecode track wirelessly into the camera to feed it timecode based on the duration of the song. I would generally use a channel of wireless to do this- feeding one rx to the slate and then another to the camera.

Are there timecode systems that will do this? Feed a real-time SMPTE timecode track to a camera based on a timecode track or MIDI timecode?

It's not that what I was doing before didn't work. I was just wondering if there is a timecode system that will support this.

Interested in buying an OPS-CORE Fast Helmet. Large Head! Need Sizing Advice

Hey guys, I have a rather large head (62cm circumference) I have been looking at buying a ballistic helmet. I know opscore caters to larger heads. In the sizing guide, XL ends at 62cm circumference and then XXL starts at 62cm in circumference. Should I buy the XXL or the XL if i go for an opscore fast?

Any other brands out there that have sizes this big?
Thanks

What frequency ranges are good to use in Las Vegas, Nevada?

Hey guys, I work in LA as a production sound mixer. I recently got offered a gig where I would travel to Las Vegas. I looked on the Freq Finder app and it basically said that every channel is in use by television stations in the area. 470-602.

Is it really that shitty? Is it worse than Los Angeles? What blocks / bands are yall using over there?

Looking for Workout earbud recommendations for very sweaty runner.

Hey guys, I go to the gym 4-5 days a week and do about an hour of cardio each day. By the end of my cardio session, my shirt is a different color, and it looks like someone has poured a bucket of water over my head. As a result of this, I have burned through so many pairs of earbuds.

So far, I've destroyed two pairs of Apple AirPod Pros and a pair of Beats Powerbeats Pro 2s.

Right now im currently running with bone conductive headphones by shokz but I would rather have something actually inside my ears so I can reduce the noise around me. (doesn't need to be noise canceling)

I also have a massive head. My head size is M XXXL for most hats, so headphones are usually out of the question.

I also am an Android user. I have a Galaxy S25.

Im also an audio engineer by trade so I'm interested in something with decent sound quality.
