New to Dishwashing, Any Tips for Hand Protection?

So I completed my first shift as a dishwasher yesterday and all in all it went pretty well. Biggest thing is I keep hearing different things on wearing gloves versus not wearing gloves.

Some say to wear gloves because of all of the germs, but they can be bulky and cause decreased dexterity.

Some say to go no-gloves because it’s easier to work with and you can just wash your hands after, but I am a chronic nail biter and have some open cuts on my skin (as well as from washing the dishes).

What would y’all recommend?

Newly Hired Dishwasher Here, Any Tips?

(M20) Just got my first job in food service as a dishwasher and I genuinely have no clue what to expect. It's a restaurant with a smaller footprint than most but still a good amount of tables; the vibes seem pretty cool in front of house, but I don't know what goes on in the back much.

Any tips from veteran food service workers?
