Selection Criteria Page or Word Limit

A bit of a silly question this one, but one I'll ask nonetheless. I have a friend looking to apply for a position and the ad states: 'a maximum 4 page statement addressing the selection criteria of this role as outlined in the JDF.'

What is the expectation to provide a four page statement? If you manage to answer the criteria in two pages, is that substantial? Do panel members look at how many pages are submitted as a judgement?

Edit to add: not me applying, but a friend.

TIA

Luna life update

Luna had her first full groom the other day. She was a lovely customer and very patient getting her hair cut and stripped. She's just ticked over seven months and turning into a beautiful and (mostly) obedient.

Companion Swapping

Right, I'm playing through NV for the first time and am halfway through the game. I've wrapped up Boone's quest - nice fella - and I'm wondering if there's a best way to rotate companions to complete as many of their quests.

Have played F3 and F4 but I tended to stick with one or two companions for those. I wouldn't mind giving each a spin as I imagine it encourages a different playing style with each.

I also have ED-E but gathering requirements for their quests.

S6 MOW v mythology question

I'm rewatching season six for the first time in decades and noticed that after One Son that it's nothing but MOW episodes until the finale. Was there a reason for that, other than thinking the show might wrap up or transition to movies?

Fremantle is being led better than any team in 2026

Fremantle is being led better than any team in 2026

No matter which way you carve it, the Dockers have the best leaders of any team in the competition right now, and Thursday night's come-from-behind win against Geelong proved it. Fremantle's on-field leaders know when to get out of the way and let star teammates shine, but they also sense the moment and step up when needed. Midfield star Andrew Brayshaw did just that in the third quarter, elevating his game to have 16 disposals for the term and putting his body on the line repeatedly. Fellow vice-captain Caleb Serong did likewise after back-to-back Geelong goals in the same quarter, kicking a brilliant stoppage goal. And when the Cats made a run in the fourth term, captain Alex Pearce took several vital intercept marks. Off the field, Justin Longmuir is coaching better than anyone and has put together the AFL's most organised and versatile team, keeping the group calm when missed shots could have rattled a less resilient group. There is no ego among Fremantle's leaders, who are sharing the spoils through a 13-game winning run. They are the best leaders in the AFL in 2026. – Nathan Schmook

Lawrie and Luna

It's been a bit since new Lawrie and Luna photos appeared, so enjoy.

Bonus blurry photo of Luna's brother, Monty, who we unexpectedly met when we were out for dinner.

Edit: Thank you for the award!

Collingwood interested in Simon Garlick?

Grain of salt as this is from Caro and posted by a Collingwood fan page, but...

Collingwood are parting with their CEO this year and will be on the search for a new one. Garlo on the market.

What is it with Freo people being scouted or suggested for other clubs? Can't we just have success for a bit rather than being treated like a feasting ground?

Adjacent to this, it's interesting to see how many coaches or leaders who have been through Freo over the years: Chris Scott, Josh Carr, I'm sure there's more. It's great that teams are able to grow for each other - just like Collingwood has for Freo - but just... hold off for a bit other teams (and media).

J Mag’s Best Australian Song of All Time

Way back in 2009, triple J polled seventy Aussie musicians about the best Australian songs. The Drones topped the list with Shark Fin Blues.

I've been searching and for the life of me can't find the rest of the list. Does anyone have it handy by any chance?

Sliding Doors: Chris Scott coaching career

I'm reading Matthew Pavlich's book Purple Heart at the moment and he talks about how Mark Harvey might have gotten the boot in 2010 and if he did, Chris Scott would have likely gotten the top job given he was an assistant coach at Freo.

Then he mentions that Scott missed out on coaching Port Adelaide as they went with Matthew Primus, leading him to Geelong.

I'm curious what would have happened with the teams Freo and Port had in 2011 and whether Scott - arguably one of the greatest modern coaches - would have been able to achieve the kind of success he did in his first season at Geelong, or if was able to just continue the run of finals appearances they had from 2007 onwards, or if both Freo and Port just weren't finals ready, no matter who the coach was.

The Resurrectionist by E.B. Hudspeth

Question for those who have listened to this. I picked it up on a Libro sale for a couple of dollars. It's two and a bit hours long, but noticed that the print version is 200+ pages.

Can anyone advise if the print version is mostly pictures? I have a feeling that's the case from some reviews, but there's not enough out there about this book to confirm. I don't mind if that's the case, but if I enjoy it, I would just order in a physical copy instead.

TIA
