While at a company retreat, we did a team activity painting ceramics and I tried to paint a premade mug and make it look like a facehugger was gripping onto an egg. I failed miserably. Didn’t have enough time to paint the detail that I needed.

Months later, I had the opportunity to do my own pottery piece for the first time ever. I decided to redeem myself. Pretty happy with it.

Here’s a quick story. During a work retreat, we had a ceramic painting group activity. We only had a couple of hours to paint and I had this idea of turning a mug into a face hugger gripping an alien egg. I was pretty frustrated with the end result because I didn’t have the time I wanted to refine it.

Fast-forward to having my first ever visit to a ceramic place and I decided to do with that opportunity what I wish I could have done with that mug. I think the idea have been sitting around in my brain, wrapped in frustration, that I was able to hit the ground running and executed it all in one shot.

Very pleased with how it turned out.
