Japanese Summer & Water Parks

I have always been interested in visiting Japan's waterparks, but the ones in Japan are only ever open in July to September. If recent news has been any indication, Japanese Summers remain as deadly as ever.

I was wondering between July to September, is there any period where the summer heat is relatively tolerable enough so that a vacation to Japan is not a horrible idea?

Should I apologise to the author?

A while back an author I liked to read got accused of AI. It wasn't just comment bots, but a long thread on twitter. However, unlike the claude detection skin, the evidence in the accusation was pretty unsubstantiated - em dashes, writing style, regular updates...etc. I didn't really see the supposed "solid proof" (I am good at detecting AI in art, but writing... not so good) , but I stopped reading the author for a while. I thought they wouldn't really notice anyway.

Today I went back to their latest updates, and once again, I just didn't see it. I commented on their latest chapter, and they replied that they thought I stopped reading their work, but they were glad to have me back . I felt really guilty. I didn't participate in the witch hunt, but doesn't mean I was less of a jerk for doubting her. Didn't take an idiot to tell I was also one who might have thought they were using AI, since I stopped around the time of the twitter witch hunt.

I was wondering if I should clear the air and apologise? Or would that just make things worse? Like what do I even say? "Oh I thought you were using AI, but I guess not, sorry about that?"

EDIT: thanks everybody. I’ll just STFU, show my support to the author, do some self reflection and hopefully be less of an simpleton in the future

Ewan Mitchell at the 20260701 GQ Heroes event

GQ article here: https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/heres-everything-that-happened-at-gq-heroes-2026

Ewan Mitchell and James Norton

Next up were Ewan Mitchell and James Norton, two of the standout actors on House of the Dragon’s third series, which came out last week.

“It’s daunting. I don’t think I’ve ever done something like this before,” Norton revealed to GQ contributor Hayley Campbell about joining the star-studded cast, in time for the Battle of the Gullet, a bloody naval clash that kicked off in the series premiere. “My sword was made by a blacksmith on set – a real blacksmith. It took him two months,” Norton said.

They dug into the scope and scale of the Game of Thrones universe – which, beyond getting 3D body scans for an armour fitting to riding horses and mechanical bucking broncos in place of dragons, sometimes meant being suspended 30 feet in the air. “I’m a bit of an Evel Knievel when it comes to stunts,” Mitchell quipped.

Ewan Mitchell BTB HS01 Summer Fall 2026

The BTB magazine came in the post and I took photos of the Ewan pages that is not yet released:

  1. (Sorry don't have access to a scanner, but I tried my best)

  2. The Ewan cover of the BTB magazine is currently sold out on the Behind the Blinds website, but I can confirm that other covers do still feature the article. In my case I got the Fabien cover. The cover photo is included inside
