Basic Concepts
These are the absolute core rules of magic, things everyone knows and pertains to.
The Wild Light
All spirits are fragments of The Wild Light, an amorphous energy source that’s basically unlimited and can create life. It contains an endless number of magical particles in every possible variation.
The Ordered Darkness
There is a reverse wild light. It does not have a proper name, but is known generally as The Ordered Darkness. Instead of being a force of liberating creation, it is a force of domineering destruction. It is rare, primarily used by enemies of life itself and the most vile living beings. None are innately born with Ordered Darkness, it is instead something developed.
Spiritual Energy
One cannot simply manifest mystical forces tied directly to the Wild Light. It is impossible, far too much power for any individual to wield. Instead, the Wild Light within an individual is transmuted into Spiritual Energy, the embodiment of one’s own mortal spirit, instead of their eternal soul. While Wild Light is unlimited, and always remains, the surrounding Spiritual Energy is not, and is generally limited. A general pool refreshes each day, building a reserve alongside all unused energy from the day before. The less energy one has, the less they are mystically capable of, and vice versa. If one runs out of energy, they cannot do any magic whatsoever, and are physically exhausted. If one has an excess of energy, it will grant a temporary boost in power, alongside potentially healing injuries.
Divine Particles
All portions of the Wild Light (and its transmuted Spiritual Energy equivalent) are made up of different amounts and ratios of three distinct mystical particles: Aether (psychic particles), Reignforce (physical particles), and Quaril (divine particles).
Through focusing one’s Spiritual Energy, different types of particles can be “activated,” changing the properties of the Spiritual Energy and allowing for different types of spells to be cast. These different types of magic, one per particle, are known as The Three Magics.
Psionic Magic
Aether can be used for Psionic Magic, encompassing all standard psychic abilities within fiction, from mind reading/control to telekinesis, alongside teleportation and construct creation. Aether manifests primarily as non-visible light. When visible, it is a deep purple almost resembling the cosmos.
Radial Magic
Reignforce can be used for Radial Magic. It’s closest to a standard “chi” system from animanga. Think more Dragon Ball and Yu Yu Hakushou than anything else. It also has various elements from cultivation series, primarily focusing on physical refinement alongside physical and spiritual mastery of weaponry. Reignforce usually manifests as bold, bright, colorful lights of nearly any kind.
Divine Magic
Quaril can be used for macro scale Divine Magic. While difficult to define, it includes things like the manipulation of stars, manipulation of principles of existence, and similar large-scale magic. It usually manifests as blinding, endless spirals and antispirals of pure white and shimmering gold light.
Awakening
For all of The Three Magics, it is possible for one to shatter their own limits in a moment, to open their eyes to the truth and cause their power level to spike. This is what is known as an Awakening. An awakening is a one-time-only boost in power embodied by a burst of extreme excess energy, generated by extreme emotion and filtered through a revelation about the nature of the specific Magic. This is a temporary, one-time state, factoring its power into the base form of the individual going forward.
Mystic State
In rare cases, an individual can learn to force a greater, temporary Awakening after the Initial Awakening has been achieved. This grants temporary knowledge and a temporary (but significant) boost in power in exchange for a complete exhaustion of spiritual energy once the effects of the transformation wear off. This is known as the Mystic State, and is considered to be a “near-zenith” of one’s personal power.
Veil-Sight
As the world is cloaked in a coat of reality, one to protect it from beings beyond the pale, magic is not planely visible to the naked eye. To be able to see magic, one must be given Veil-Sight, the ability to see the truth of the world. Generally, the easiest (and most common) way to gain Veil-Sight is to consume a Neptunian Seeker Parasite. While the Neptunians are a hive-mind adjacent species, these parasites are simply not intelligent enough to have any form of mind at all, let alone a mystical connection to a greater hive. When first ingested, it causes some sickness, but is safe under nearly all possible circumstances. These parasites do not feed on flesh, instead consuming small portions of one’s Spiritual Energy each day. Veil-Sight can also be gained by being a Waymaker, an individual who forcibly achieves at least two Awakenings without knowing magic exists. Very few Waymakers exist, but those that do can see the truth, and are made all the more dangerous for it.
Wraiths
Following an Awakening in two of the Three Magics, one’s spiritual energy goes into flux, every particle slamming against and through itself, rapidly generating more energy and spinning it off. This process creates a Wraith, an intelligent mirror of their very soul with a distinct ability, one the wraith’s creator can now use. There are generally 21 kinds of Wraith, one per each Major Arcana.
Each Wraith, while a distinct individual, cannot manifest its own body, and is usually bound to their creator’s wishes. Instead, it can manifest a unique effect with its own rules and properties, usually pertaining to the nature of the Creator’s soul. These effects are potent and multifaceted, requiring high levels of skill and practice to control and use effectively.
Usually, a given person’s Tarot is based upon their parent’s Tarot. All individuals have a Tarot of some kind, awakened or otherwise. If a given person has one awakened parent, their tarot will either be the next card or the card before said parent’s card in the Major Arcana Sequence. If either both or neither of a given individual’s parents are awakened, it is a coin flip who’s card it is based on. In the case of a parent having The Fool or The World, their child can have any card, including both The Fool and The World. Additionally, there is a 3% chance that their child will have two Cards, and thus, two Wraiths. Their second card will be based upon the first.
Waymaker Wraiths
To become a Waymaker, one must forcibly create a Wraith without knowing magic even exists. This is painful and dangerous, and creates an unstable Waymaker Wraith. A Waymaker Wraith is a physical embodiment of the extreme physical and mental stress the Waymaker was under mid Awakening, their soul taking a backseat in the mirroring process. These Wraiths are usually extra powerful, but unpredictable and almost impossible to control.
Spiritual Evolution
Each of the Tarot cards have their own distinct ability that can be accessed before manifesting a Wraith. Post-manifestation, this is considered to be a near-zenith of one’s power, known as Spiritual Evolution. This involves some level of physical and spiritual transformation. While each transformation is distinct from person to person, each Tarot has their own “class” of transformation, and a distinct pre-wraith version that’s universal. Awakening a Wraith changes the Spirit Evolution form significantly. While it is generally the same shape and style, it’s a different form entirely.
The Wraithwoven State
In certain cases, an individual can assimilate with their Wraith, the two consciousnesses working in sync. This unlocks a greater depth of power, alongside a new, exclusive application of the Wraith’s ability. This is known as the Wraithwoven State. Usually, the Wraithwoven State involves some kind of temporary physical transformation, transforming the user into the closest thing there is to a physical form of the Wraith. This is, like many things, a near-zenith of one’s power.
Cosmology and Related Powers
Basic Summary of Cosmology
In this world, there are various confirmed Gods, Devils, and the like in this setting, embodying principles of the world in means tying back to the three major particles. The capital G God, the creator of everything else, is the Wild Light itself. The only individual who could wield the Wild Light, Attena, his child, is considered to be a Christ-like figure. Attena is confirmed to have reincarnated various times throughout history alongside his brother, Akkana, who instead wielded the Ordered Darkness. Demons and Devils also exist. The capital T capital D, “The Devil,” is the Ordered Darkness itself. Devils are the equivalent of Gods, and Demons are the equivalent of Angels.
Blessings and Divine Awakenings
The various Gods can choose to give temporary blessings to mortals, allowing them to tap into their special techniques and spiritual energy pools. These usually have any number of consequences or limitations and restrictions. To the highest level, a Blessing can be used to simulate a Divine Awakening, allowing for the blessed to temporarily gain access to their Wraith.
Angelic Blessings and Holy Ghosts
Gods can choose to give a higher level of blessing, known as an Angelic Blessing. This gives the individual access to a Holy Ghost, a specific type of Wraith that can temporarily be wielded. This Wraith bows both to the God and the user, but primarily the God.
Angels
Angels do similarly exist. They serve directly under a God, many of which being ascended mortal worshippers of that God who had many blessings in life. They can similarly give blessings, but have a significantly more limited powerbank to dole out from. Instead of having an endless number of Holy Ghosts to assign, an Angel can only give access to their own Holy Ghost.
Innate Blessings
Certain individuals are blessed outright from birth. This manifests differently than other blessings. It usually results in increased prowess with one of The Three Magics, alongside increased physical and mental prowess. This is the only way to have a ratio of any given particle above 59%. This is known as an Innate Blessing.
Divinity and Its Mechanics.
All of the Gods are immortal, but not invincible. They are so strong they might as well be invincible, almost entirely untouchable to all that aren’t Gods. All of the Gods were additionally forced into an agreement by The God, where if they kill another deity, He will smite them as well. If a God is somehow killed, the concept they embody will cease to exist until another takes up their status as the God of that concept. This, on paper, is performed by their highest ranking Angel. Gods/Angels and mortals can have children together, as can Devils/Demons and mortals. This creates a Demigod, regardless of the parentage. Their spiritual energy pool is directly spiked with Wild Light/Ordered Darkness, purifying/corrupting and strengthening it, increasing their strength significantly.
The Nephilim State
It is possible, but rare, for an individual to achieve Spiritual Evolution or the Wraithwoven State with a Holy Ghost. Both have the same effect, a higher form tied to the energy and will of the God, known as The Nephilim State. This is considered to be a “near-zenith” of one’s power. If performed with an Angel, the mortal and the angel fuse.
Physiology Based Abilities
Strange Evolutions
Different species have innate abilities that look really similar to magic. Akkatonians, for example, can disguise their real appearance, suppress their true power, and conjure armor-like shells on parts of their body that significantly increase their physical capabilities, alongside many being able to innately fly. These are not explicitly magical powers, alongside looking and feeling very magical. These adaptations are known as “Strange Evolutions”
Mystical Evolutions
Some species do just innately have magical powers. Elementals can shapeshift and control the elements, Elves can focus their vision in a way that lets them see mystical particles and how a given Wraith works, Orks can quite literally put themselves back together easily. These adaptations are known as “Mystical Evolutions”
Hybrid Evolutions
For some species, it’s in-between. Neptunians have natural tentacle-like hair, the ability to generate various parasites with a vast number of effects, gills and lungs, spontaneous evolutionary capabilities, physical forms far greater than that of a human, a complex hormonal cycle potentially inducing a wildly powerful beast transformation, and a countless number of specialized sub-species one can mature into. They also have a pseudo-hive mind bowing to the ruling family, the ability to transform an individual of any other species into a hybrid with parasites and time, the ability to mask and appear somewhat human adjacent, and the ability to transfer their Wraiths, knowledge, consciousnesses, and spiritual energies between every member of the species freely. These adaptations are known as “Hybrid Evolutions”
“The Zenith State”
Through combining the Mystic State, Wraithwoven State, Spiritual Evolution, and the Nephilim State, it is possible for one to achieve the highest possible level of power. It is nearly always fatal for the user, significantly straining the body and soul past its limit. However, when active, one in the Zenith State is comparable, if not greater than, a God. The restrictions of all previously mentioned forms fade away under the immense positive spiritual power within them. Their Wraith and Holy Ghost abilities all but ascend, their effects now applied on a truly fundamental level, the sheer weight and effect multiplied several thousandfold.
Many have achieved this state. Few of them have survived. Those who do survive, however, are physically changed. It is believed their souls are no longer mortal, and will become some kind of divine following their death. These individuals are known as Sages.

I'm not crazy, right?
The actual physique of Megahorn reminds me a lot of Wan Tiger from Dairanger. It feels like it's going to transform into some kind of bipedal giant, not a mecha since it's fully organic, but close-ish. I also think this is what Gokaku and Hikaku are working towards. If we get a Kaiju that functionally becomes feet, I feel that this is what's gonna end up happening.
It'll be easily confirmed once people start getting the toys in hand. If the front and hind legs can rotate into pseudo-bipedal forms, it may happen.
I could just be seeing patterns where they dont exist, and to be honest, I probably am, but it would be kinda sick in my eyes.
