Is anyone else annoyed by rambling quilt videos?

You know the ones. They mention that this was their grandmother's favorite block and then go into long reminiscences about visiting grandma and baking cookies (with recipe!) and eating the cookies while grandma sewed. Argh! It's fine to mention grandma's favorite block, but then move on!

AITA for not taking my daughter's MIL to Hawaii

A little over three years ago my husband and I had our 50th anniversary. We took the whole family, 10 people, on a Hawaiian cruise to celebrate. Our 2 daughters (Jennifer and Samantha,) their husbands (Jason and Steve,) and our four adult grandchildren. It took three years of planning and saving. We paid for airfare from the East Coast to Hawaii, hotel rooms before and after the cruise, and the cruise itself. The family paid for whatever excursions they wanted to go on.

Jason's mother Carol lives with them. We did not pay for her to go along, since it was intended as a cruise for our immediate family. She stayed home and watched Jennifer and Jason's dogs. Even if we had taken her on the cruise, she would not have been able to pay for any excursions like the others did, as she has no income other than Social Security.

Since then she has been polite, but Jenny says that she "hates us" because we have the lifestyle she wanted. I think she may be jealous that we can afford to travel.

Were we assholes for not taking her on the cruise?
