With the recent announcement of HW3 upgrades, how do you see it shaking out?

I’ve heard the upgrade is going to cost between $1800 - $2300 USD. I am wondering if this is a shared cost or if Tesla really will foot the bill for each and every HW3 vehicle.

I can’t see them paying to upgrade everyone, but I think ~$2000 is very fair for an upgrade to HW4.

Anyone having recent encoder issues with an AMD card?

I can not stream. Encoder is failing constantly. I have a 7900XTX GPU and a 7900X CPU.

All the logs I have found for Meld AND OBS point to encoder issues. Multiple failures. Even when I switch to software encoding, still fails.

Anyone getting this or have dealt with it in the past?

Active Army EOD looking into ANG cyber 1BX41

I’m just going to say this first: I know how the military works and I know about the EDPT. I have high enough ASVAB scores and I already have a TS/SCI.

With that being said, any of you cyber dudes here? I’m curious specifically about how the job prepared you for a role in the civilian sector.

I really want to see if this training is enough to land a cleared job right off the bat.

Also curious how the benefits differ for spouses in the ANG, and how easy it is to get this job.

Thanks.

Has the VA ever denied your claims for something you didn’t disclose at MEPs?

We all left shit out at MEPS. I left out ADHD, but just recently told my PCM I was on meds as a kid because I’m trying to get back on them.

If I get out and go to the VA, will they deny any of my other claims with the logic “I shouldn’t have been allowed in in the first place?”

I am not planning on claiming ADHD as a factor.

For reference, I took meds for a few years and stopped when I was like 13-14, back in 2007.

Looking to talk to anyone about transitioning from Army to Air National Guard

What’s up nerds. I’m currently EOD in the Army and I’m curious how the pipeline looks for going active Army to ANG.

I’m specifically curious about the Cyber Warfare Job, 1B4X1. I’m at ten years in the Army right now and their bonuses are dog shit and so is the leadership, so I’m leaving.

I already have my TS/SCI, and about to start a BS program in Cybersecurity.

So is this job relatively easy to get in the ANG? What does the timeline look like?

Can I collect VA disability while in the ANG?

Bonus if any recruiters hit me up. I appreciate your time, Go Air Force!

I want to go to church without being around “church people”

I’m active duty military. I genuinely enjoy swearing and dark humor. I’m not a goodie goodie.

Church people sometimes nauseate me. They’re just so boring, bland, and seem so fake and outwardly nice.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

Edit: as has been pointed out, I am also being judgmental by saying church people are all boring, bland and fake. Fair assessments all around.

What I mean to say is I don’t want to feel alienated or that cold stare when I slip up and say an oopsie word. That’s all. I have also seen people who attend church regularly who are assholes in real life, thus acting and living a lie.

Already getting bad vibes.

First semester. Scheduled a meeting with my mentor. He canceled the meeting only 90 minutes before and I got an email saying he would reschedule it. That was last week. He hasn’t reached out to me.

Term starting soon…thinking about dropping this mf.

Former military who did Skillbridge - what was it like? Did it help you land a job?

Considering leaving the service after this contract and looking into Skillbridge opportunities. Currently pursuing a BSCSIA from WGU. I’ll have that done and maybe a masters by the time I leave.

What was Skillbridge like? Did it actually help you land a job?

Thanks.

I’m tired of the doom and gloom. How did WGU help you land your job, and how long after graduation did it take to get hired?

I am beyond excited to start classes here in a few weeks. I have some prior college experience, and I thoroughly enjoy learning. But the doom and gloom of the tech world layoffs and hitting me pretty hard. I see some success stories every now and again coming from this sub and others.

So, title!

What jobs are available for someone who is creative but not talented?

I would consider myself to be a very creative person. I have a deep want to express myself and convey messages. I can see “big picture” things, and how minute details can make a difference. I love being a DM when playing DnD for that reason.

Problem is, I can’t write very well (if you can’t tell). I cant draw, or paint. I am musically inclined but I lack the patience for it. I have tried my hand at photography and videography, but I see no stable, high paying job for that.

I would love to work as the brains behind a video game series or something similar. Become a creative director for…something. Marketing? TV Shows? But I have no idea how to even get started, what jobs are out there, or how to even apply.

So, what jobs are out there for someone who is immensely creative but completely lacks the artistic skills to express that creativity?

How confident am I supposed to feel for Network+?

With a week or two more, I am confident I can pass the test. And that’s it.

I do not feel confident in anyway that I understand what I’m learning. I can understand how the information relates to itself, I can memorize questions, but I truly do not feel like I could configure a network at all, I don’t think I know what a protocol really is, what the fuck is a “framework” of protocols, I don’t understand VLANs vs normal subnetting vs VPCs vs VPNs, IaC vs IaaS.

I can tell you what the definitions are. I couldn’t begin to describe what border gateway is, RIP, EIGRP, or how any of it works or what it is.

And why do we have to learn about technology that doesn’t even exist anymore? Why do I need to know that argon is used in fire suppression systems?

Is this exam supposed to make me feel fucking dumb, and not understand networking? Or is it supposed to feel like a very rough introduction?

Army TA

Had a phone call with enrollment today. They said Army TA only pays half of the allotment per term, and never the full $4500 I am entitled.

My understanding is that TA exhausts itself per term, and the service member pays the difference.

What was he talking about?

How much work do you put in per week?

Just curious how much work you all put in per week per class, and generally how long your classes take to complete. When I was doing 7.5 week semesters, I was clocking probably 20 hours a week.

Curious of the work load at WGU.

Any active duty Army here using TA?

Curious how the self paced TA works. Do you submit funding requests as often as you can - whenever you finish a class? Are you paying anything out of pocket?

How much does a clearance actually help the poor job market?

Currently have a TS/SCI. Do entry level positions with a clearance even exist?
