Hello everyone.
I want to preface this by stating a trigger warning regarding extreme abuse and death of a precious Rotweiler.
On Monday May 4th, animal control was called due to 2 dogs being at large in the Georgina, Ontario area. These dogs are known in the area and aren’t known for being aggressive.
The first officer arrived and was a rookie that was nervous of the dogs so she called for back up. At this point the family of one of the dogs had arrived and pickup up their dog, leaving only the Rotweiler left on the scene.
Now allegedly (although I have this on very good authority) when the more experienced officer arrived she was already angry because it was almost the end of her shift and she had to drive 45 minutes north to “deal with this fucking shit”.
This angry officer then approached the dog from behind and grabbed him by the scruff and attempted to drag him to the crate, when she did this he turned and but her.
At this point she was extremely angry and ordered the rookie officer to grab the poles. The 2 officers then went on to pole the dog around the neck on either side and then they tightened the noose so tight that he began bleeding out of his mouth and nose and was frantically rolling and fighting for his life to be free. This was 2 hours of them strangling this poor 4 year old boy… the bystanders were begging her to stop and she was telling them to “fuck off”, “get the fuck back”, “I don’t give a fuck what’s happening to him”.
After the dog was deceased on the driveway, she went on to justify her actions by stating she had been bit.
I’m sorry if this post is a little bit all over the place, I’m still genuinely in shock that something like this could happen at the hands of animal control officers.
If anyone in this group is in the Aurora, Ontario area, there is a peaceful protest this Saturday, May 9th from 10am-noon. All support is appreciated.
