Top layer issues after switching from Cura to OrcaSlicer (Neptune 3 Pro + Klipper)
Switched from Cura to Orca recently and can’t quite match the quality I had on defaults. Walls are sorted after tweaking, top layer is the last thing giving me trouble.
Photo attached. Ironing the top surface helps — it’s flat now instead of wavy — but I had to drop the top layer speed all the way to 10 mm/s to get there, and it’s still not as clean as Cura was at default speeds.
Weird part: filament matters a lot here.
• eSUN PLA → prints perfectly
• Elegoo PLA and Prusa PLA → this is where the top layer issues show up
All regular PLA, no PLA+. Tried both 210°C and 215°C, no real difference. Also dried the PLA in the oven, didn’t help either. Been digging through threads and haven’t found anything that worked.
