Super Twisted XXS Calf Rope — how to fix??
This is a XXS 30’ Head Calf Rope. It seems there’s multiple twists that I cannot get out.
I stretch my rope by anchoring my loop around a fence post, laying out the rest of the rope straight and then going all the way to the end, and using my body weight to lean as far back as possible to stretch it. I only stretch it for like 5 seconds before I would start to fall from how far I leaned back.
when I was practicing with a group of people, a man was helping me stretch it out to get the kick out. He did it the method above and it always worked when he did it.
However, whenever I do it, it never seems to help, it might even make it worse. I am a lady who is smaller than him, so I wonder if it’s possible I do not have enough strength or weight to stretch it the way it needs to be.
i do not have a saddle horn to dally it on or a horse to help pull. I do have a truck that I could use if i need to.
This twist occurred only my 2nd day of using this rope by the way. Before, I stored it in larger coils than I typically use, Honda facing up if leaned up against fall or ontop of the coils if on its side.
I have hand twisted it a bjt it keeps spinning and twisting and hitting me in the face lol
OR the twists will climb back up on the rope
in addition, I have also kinda dragged and flicked the rope from side to side to hopefully let the twists come out themselves, unfortunately no luck.
I am starting to get very frustrated as all of my roping practice is turning into fighting the rope and not practicing my swing.
What can I do?? I appreciate any help!!
