Retroactive induction and switching from VR&E to post 9/11

Hello everyone. I’m looking for some guidance from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I’m currently in VR&E and have three classes left to finish my bachelor’s degree (one of which I’m taking now). My GPA is right around a 3.0, and I’d like to raise it because I plan to attend graduate school.

I already spoke with my VR&E counselor, and she told me I can’t add a minor under my current VR&E plan. Because of that, I’m considering using my remaining 20 month’s of Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits this fall so I can add a minor and improve my GPA.

My question is about RETROACTIVE INDUCTION. If I leave VR&E before completing my bachelor’s and use my GI Bill for my final semester, would that make me ineligible for retroactive induction, or could I still qualify if I otherwise meet the requirements?

My counselor told me that I may be eligible for retroactive induction, but she didn’t explain the criteria in detail. My school accepted all of my transfer credits that I completed using the GI Bill before I started VR&E, and from what I’ve read, it seems like I might qualify. I’m just trying to understand whether switching back to the GI Bill for my last semester would affect that.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or successfully received retroactive induction after leaving VR&E before graduating? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you!

PTT

Someone’s gotta say it but if you can’t confidently pass a PT test then don’t even bother applying. I just witnessed half the applicants fail the PT.
