My biggest inspo is norapotwora. I like the simplicity of her art, but still making a clean and pretty piece that reads well. I don’t know how she does it, but I’m trying to learn. Simple clean line art, base/flat colors, and then what looks like a combo of soft and cell shading. I struggle the most with figuring out shading. Hopefully I can learn the more I keep remaking my artwork.
Usually my style has been like the second photo for years now. It’s a bit cleaner than it used to be, but I just don’t know if it’s what I want anymore. I tried a more “simplistic” and clean style, but I’m not sure about it. I really want to be able to make some animal art, but my brain won’t let me until I figure this out once and for all. I want it to be clean, simplistic, and semi-realistic without all the complex stuff. Do y’all think the new style (first photo) is better and worth sticking with? Should I keep trying? As somebody who has been working on it and staring at it for hours, it just looks like a mess to me lol.
