AITAH for telling a joke that got me reported to my supervisor

Hello, earlier today, I (25M)was having lunch with my coworkers, Fred(24M), Clara(40F) and Janet(25F) all fake names, we were just chilling, having normal conversation, when Janet had to go back to work when her lunch break was over. She mentioned how she was tired and that she didn't want to go back to work, in a joking way since everyone on my shift makes similar jokes.

Me, Fred, and Clara then pipe up and start encouraging her, telling her that she can do it, and that we believe in her. Here's where I might be in the wrong, after everyone said there peice, I though it would be funny to add, "Yeah Janet, even though Fred doesn't believe in you, me and Clara do" This is after the fact where she clearly heard Fred say the opposite. Though after saying it, Fred got defensive and said, "Hey, I never said that, I do believe in ya" to Janet, and then glared at me.

I only made that joke because I know Fred has a crush on Janet, and I was just trying to joke around and mess with him a bit. But I guess I shouldn't of said that because later that night, i got called into the office by my supervisor and was toldabout how they heard about the situation, and that Fred was upset with what I said, and was given a verbal warning to not do it again. Now im wondering if I did go to far and if I should apologize for what I thought was a harmless joke?
