Ingredient showdown: Glycerin vs Hyaluronic Acid

When it comes to hydrating ingredients, glycerin and hyaluronic acid are two of the biggest names in skincare. You know they're popular when you can find them in like 99% of the skincare products on your shelf hahaha

Glycerin and hyaluronic acid are both humectants which are ingredients that draw water into the skin, giving it that plump, hydrated feel.

Both are excellent ingredients, but if you could only choose one...

Which one are you picking and why?

Let's Settle This... Are retinoids actually worth the hype?

We've all heard that retinoids are one of, if not the most effective skincare ingredients out there. From treating acne to improving fine lines and uneven skin tone, they're often called the gold standard of skincare.

Some people swear they're the best addition they've ever made to their routine, whilst others find them too irritating, overhyped, or simply not worth the effort.

But what's been your experience?

Let's settle this. Are retinoids actually worth the hype?

Also drop your favourite retinol / retinal / retinoid products in the comments below too :)

What are your biggest green and red flags when looking at an INCI list?

When we look at an INCI list, there are those ingredients that instantly make us want to try a product. At the same time there are those ingredients that make us think, this would've been perfect if that wasn't in there...

For me I love when formulas include ingredients like cica, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, squalane, ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids!

My biggest red flags would be like excessive fragrance, essential oils and any super occlusive ingredients as I have clog prone skin :c

How about you guys?

What are your biggest green and red flags when it comes to an INCI list?

If you had to restart your skincare journey tomorrow, what would you do differently?

Learning to take care of your skin is full of so many ups and downs... Often times more lows than highs but that's what makes those highs feel so great hahaha

Maybe you used way too many products, chased every skincare trend, ignored sunscreen, over exfoliated, or completely neglected your barrier. We've all been there.

But if you could go back and start your skincare journey from scratch with everything you know today...

What would you do differently?

Share your biggest lesson below. It might be exactly what someone else needs to hear :)

Let's Settle This... Is Double Cleansing Actually Worth It?

We've all heard that double cleansing is great for removing sunscreen, make up and the day's build up. I'm sure most of us have seen all those oil pulling videos on social media hahaha.

Some people swear by their double cleanse whilst others think it's unnecessary unless you're wearing heavy make up or a really stubborn sunscreen.

But what's been your experience?

Let's settle this. Is double cleansing actually worth it?

Also drop your favourite cleansing products in the comments below too :)

Community Feedback Wanted: Should skin photos on the sub be marked as spoilers?

Hi everyone, Anders here!

Hope everyone's having a lovely day :)

We've had this suggestion come up a couple times in our modmail, so I wanted to get everyone's opinion on it before making any decisions.

The suggestion was to ask that photos of skin on the sub be marked as spoilers. Their reasoning being that some members who have struggled with skin conditions themselves find seeing these images unexpectedly can be mentally taxing or triggering.

I'd love to hear what you all think. Would this be a positive addition to the subreddit, or do you think things are better as they are?

I want this community to be shaped by the people who are part of it so I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to share their thoughts.

Thanks everyone :)
