Before last Saturday I'd never consciously listened to any music by OR, but I couldn't sleep on Friday night and saw the Guardian's review of the album, and gave The Cure a listen. Then I was driving on Saturday and listened to the whole thing.

I'm completely blown away. YSPSFAGSIL is a masterpiece. Everything about it is as close to perfect as I think it could be - lyrics, music, singing, production, even the structure of the album. For a concept album, it's right up there with American Idiot in terms of how well it carries through. For a week I've not been able to listen to anything else, to the point that I'm actually annoying myself now with how many of the songs have been stuck in my head at different points. My wife is also getting annoyed with me because I keep going on about it.

I have about 8 favourite songs on the album but the one that knocked me over is Less. I was on the motorway when it first came on, and it made me cry. Went back, listened to it again, and then again. It's an astonishing song, the shock of "... I wish you loved me less" is very well done.

Anyway, she's incredibly talented. I'll be listening to the rest of her stuff once I stop obsessing over this lol.
