Does anyone know what this symbol coil uses means? It resembles the symbol for mercury but is clearly distinct

It would also be cool to know when they used it since its not very much associated with any album covers, was it in their zines?

Does anybody know a good tattoo shop/ artist that would do a good version of this artwork?

I really want to get this tattooed but I also want someone that could properly do this type of sketchy but detailed style since plenty of artists focus on more traditional art. It would be so helpful!!
