Today’s update: Cisalpina 238

Here is an update on todays progress, remaining to-do‘s and fixture count for the 238 Strada Project!

Hope ya all enjoy watching the project come together!

Done:

  • Modeled wiper motor and began doing wiring
  • enlarged fuel tanks from 30L each to 40.8L each
  • resized brake calipers and disks to be more realistic and fit inside the wheels
  • Repositioned all pedals and steering linkage as well as the brake booster
  • Removed excess frame fixtures that remained after some copying and pasting
  • Redid front fender lining

To-Do‘s

  • Make brake lines
  • maybe model the throttle and clutch cable
  • do all the wiring (at least to the lights)
  • do coolant routing (and potentially reposition the radiator)
  • model door hinging mechanism
  • extend front frame to hold popup headlight mechanism (which I will most likely steal from my irl Mazda Miata)
  • model the front brake caliper brackets and redo the rear ones (maybe)
  • maybe make custom calipers (at least for the parking/emergency brake, idk about the normal calipers)
  • make proper rear shock mounts
  • Make an interior (oh lord help me)
  • MAYBE modify front frame to accommodate a spare wheel but after the helpful response on the last post I will most likely just let it be without a spare

current fixture count: 2051

Spare wheel placement

Hello people of the automation reddit. I need some advice: Where could I place my spare wheel? I can do some frame adjustments but would first like to see what you all think.

Since I am perfectionistic, heres ANOTHER revamp of my Mx-5 replica!

(most of the car is based on my own miata so I can get quite close and add personal details :D)

new/updated stuff

- slightly enlarged popups that are pushed more towards the center to be more realistic

- a proper interior (which I am still working on)

- a german license plate i saw on another miata somewhere close to my school

- a more realistic engine replica (larger block, better replica of the powerband and peak power and torque numbers, new headers)

- a custom exhaust/muffler

- a vinyl roof with a zipping rear window (like in my miata)

- mounts for a hardtop

- a slightly modeled engine bay

- mudguard thingies

- OEM taillights

- new paint

- custom 3d wipers

- rain gutter/tonneau cover mounting rail

- OEM Side markers

- small other things (Shift knob from my own car, keys in the ignition with a "replica" of my keychain, cigarette lighter etc)

if ya wanna support me further than "just" liking this post (which I greatly appreciate :D) you could check out my instagram account!

WIP: 1990 DMA Alietta

Here’s a little work in progress project I am making right now powered by a 117hp 2.3L I4 (NA) coupled to a 5 speed manual thats supposed to capture the spirit of the Mazda mx-5 na in a slightly more stylish shell inspired by my Alia and the Dino 206S. Hope it looks pleasing despite not being finished. I am definitely taking suggestions for the design of the back.

(also I’m kinda proud of the interior since its pretty realistic :D)

lastly if ya want to you can check out my instagram stuff for more posts!

New Project: DMA RK8 models (focus on 400i)

Here’s my new relatively big project!

this is my first relatively new (90s) car for which I will be making detailed insides :D

I am working on my first semi-modern full frame for it (which is currently missing a front subframe and like basically everything else xD) and a very detailed engine with things like air flow sensors on intakes, coolant routing, coolant valley pan, pumps and all the other stuff official automation engine models are missing!

How stuff is right now:

  • floor of the chassis done
  • started modeling all pillars
  • Started modeling the tailgate (missing mostly the lighting mounts)
  • coolant valley finished
  • valley pan finished
  • Airbox and intakes done (except for connections to the air flow sensors)
  • radiator, oil cooler and fan put in but not hooked up to anything yet

Feedback and help is greatly appreciated, especially with the chassis part of the project

New CSL GT3 Wheel not updating (help needed)

My brand new CSL Wheel just told me "Caution, I need a new update" so I thought sure, cant be this bad. I have now spent an hour trying to figure out how to fix it. Every time I click "flash update" on the little window that opens it does its thing, closes for a bit and then reopens as if I didnt already update it. I reinstalled the fanatec app, updated it, restarted my pc three times, tried disconnecting/reconnecting my wheel and wheelbase multiple times and it still isnt working. All of this after my shifter and other CSL wheel also gave up after just 1.5 years of use. It would be great if someone here has an idea how one could fix this, its quite annoying.

some small updates for the 1400S!

^((for the to-do´s everything that is) ^(italic) ^(and) ^(bold) ^(is something that is already partially there. The rest needs to be done from the ground up.))

Updates:

  • started making custom brake disks + calipers (brembos are placeholders)
  • made custom wheel hubs
  • redid mounting points for rear suspension (not finished yet)
  • started making a custom rear suspension upright to mount brake calipers to
  • closed up middle firewall segment and added welded in cutout to fit wiring for spark plugs
  • put in new pedals

Remaining to-do´s for suspension etc:

  • finish rear mounting points for suspension
  • make front suspension upright
  • finish rear mounting points for brake calipers
  • finish front mounting points for brake calipers
  • make custom brake calipers
  • make brake lines

Remaining to-do´s in general:

  • make brake lines, throttle cable and clutch pedal
  • make door locking mechanisms
  • extend frame to the roof of the car
  • put in battery and fuse box
  • do all electrical wiring (probably the most difficult thing)
  • finish interior
  • finish exterior (mirrors, door handles, turn signals etc)
