Currently on the Avocado 11" Hybrid Latex from Costco and am experiencing some low back tightness that resolves in an hour or two after getting up and moving around. Feels like it's generally from the arch of my lumbar hanging in space/not being supported. Looking to add one of their toppers to make it a bit softer and looking for recommendations on the medium latex vs talalay latex Avocado toppers.
Has anyone compared the two or know how they feel compared to the current mattress? Avocado recommends the medium one for back sleepers but I don't want to add something that's the same firmness if it's already too firm. Slept on a 4" foam mattress on plywood last week in a rather rustic cabin and didn't have any low back tightness, first night back on my mattress the low back tightness was... Back.
Background - M, 5'10", 190lbs. Toss/turn a lot, usually start/end on back. Cheap memory foam always felt too squishy and hot and I would have low back pain. Tried futon+tatami mats for awhile but that was too firm and side sleeping didn't work. Moved to this mattress since I liked the idea of cooler latex and a hybrid giving it longer life and less off gassing, plus comfort/normalcy for overnight guests.
