Military Heritage of Rajasthani Marwari Hindu Gurjars - @gurjarmartialheritage

1.Mihir Lakhman Gurjar was a close, high-ranking noble

(Sardar) of Jaswant Singh Rathore of Marwar and a

contemporary of Durgadas Rathore. He was part of the noble circle present at Jaswant Singh's deathbed and later among those who sent out the official letter announcing the

Maharaja's death.

2.It wasn't uncommon for Marwari Hindu Gurjars, though

small in number, to rise through military service. For example, during the Battle of Ahmedabad against the Second Nawab of Sindh, Gurjars commanded the Central Command under Abhai Singh, the grandson of Jaswant Singh

  1. Apart from structured service, Gurjars were also part of the mercenary forces that served alongside the Marwari army, as is ascertained by written sources.
