Hello. I am building AI agents like for mailing, content creation and daily alerts..but challenge is where when I try to sell it..happy to know how you do the same and what are the ways to sell it effectively and rapidly.
Curious about the freelance/contract side of patent work - prior art searches, invalidity analysis, claim charting, FTO opinions - for people who don't want the traditional firm or in-house track (or can't get in right now given how tight hiring's been).
There's clearly demand on the examiner side of things - USPTO's been hiring hundreds of examiners while also losing plenty to attrition - which makes me wonder if there's a parallel opportunity on the private side: firms and startups needing overflow analysis work without adding full-time headcount.
For anyone who's tried freelancing in this space, or hired freelancers for it:
Where do you actually find clients - law firm relationships, platforms, direct outreach to startups?
Is it realistic as a primary income, or mostly a side gig alongside other work?
What matters more to clients - technical background (STEM degree, examiner experience) or legal credentials (JD, patent bar)?
Trying to figure out if this is a legitimate path or just sounds better in theory than it works in practice.
