Said Goodbye Today

My best friend for the past 14 years crossed the rainbow bridge today. She has been with me since my senior year of high school. All of college. My first real job and moving states. From apartment to apartment. To finally our first house with my now wife. She then moved back to our home state with us and we started a family. 2 beautiful kids that she adored and always let them play with her and she tolerated it all. This past year she was diagnosed with CHF and a brain tumor. We gave her meds and upped them over and over hoping to get more time and our girl back. But we finally decided she was too tired to keep fighting. The sicknesses progressed to where she was no longer herself in any means, other than her being so sweet.

We decided we would have her leave us at home today. After taking her out for a morning walk in the park and letting her off the leash to explore and do quite literally whatever she wants. You could tell she hadn’t been this happy in a very long time. We followed that up with a long nap and then got her ice cream and one last long walk along the dam and city. She didn’t want to stop, but you could tell her legs were giving out and she just couldn’t keep going.

We brought her home, and I cooked her a steak for her last meal. She had never seemed so at peace after that. She laid in our arms and snoozed for an hour until the vet arrived. It was a very peaceful process in our backyard. But I still can’t believe she’s gone as I type this. I feel like I lost everything. The thing I spent the most time in my life with, is gone. Never to see her again. Never felt emptier. Attached some of my favorite photos over the years. Hug your animals for me tonight.

Do I remove this?

Was looking to put a new spout on my tub and the new one I bought seems to just go directly over the piping and tightens by a screw below it. Took off the old spout and there is some type of fitting on the copper piping. The new spout won’t fit due to this. Just curious if I can take that piece off or if I need a different spout entirely.
