For Anyone Who Has Walked 75,000+ Steps in a Day, How Did You Build Up From 50,000?

I’ve completed 50,000 steps in a day before and I’m considering trying to reach 75,000.

For anyone who has done 75,000 steps or more in a single day, how did you approach it?

Did you build up gradually with longer walks beforehand, or just attempt the distance once you felt comfortable with 50,000? I’m also curious about things like pacing, breaks, food and hydration, footwear, and how you planned your route.

Was the jump from 50,000 to 75,000 significantly harder than you expected?

Interested to hear what worked for others and anything you would do differently if you attempted it again.

For CFA Charterholders Who Later Completed the FRM, Was It Worth It?

I completed the CFA Program first and then went on to complete both parts of the FRM in 2021.

For me, the FRM was appealing because I wanted to go deeper into risk management and better understand areas that the CFA curriculum did not cover in as much depth.

I’m curious to hear from others who followed a similar path, particularly CFA charterholders who later completed the FRM.

How much overlap did you find between the two programs?
What FRM topics felt the most distinct or valuable?
Did earning the FRM help you professionally?
Looking back, do you think completing both was worth the additional time and effort?

I used the official curriculum along with Bionic Turtle for both parts and found certain topics fascinating, but I’m wondering how others view the value of the designation several years after completing it.

Interested to hear what others think and whether the FRM has had a meaningful impact on their careers.

How I Structured My CFA Level I, II, and III Studying: Timeline, Resources, and Preparation Strategy

I recently finished writing about the study approach I used across all three levels of the CFA Program and thought some of it might be useful to current candidates.

For context, my timeline was:
Level I: December 2017
Level II: June 2018
Level III: June 2019

My overall approach was fairly consistent across the three exams. I focused first on getting through 100% of the required curriculum, then shifted increasingly toward practice questions, reviewing weaker areas, and mock exams as the exam date approached.

The resources I used changed somewhat by level:
Level I: CFA curriculum only
Level II: CFA curriculum + select Mark Meldrum videos for my weaker areas
Level III: CFA curriculum + one of Mark Meldrum’s standard packages

One thing that worked well for me was reading the entire curriculum rather than relying directly on condensed notes from third-party providers. Once I had covered everything at least once, I could identify weaker topics and spend the remaining time much more deliberately.

I also made sure not to jump into practice questions and mock exams too early-I saved that for the final 1-2 months before the exam.

Happy to answer any questions about my study schedule, resources, timeline, Level I vs. II vs. III, or anything else that might be useful to candidates currently going through the program.
