Technical advice needed about positioning

Sorry long post. I’ve had Hive for about 18 months and frequently have issues where the thermostat and receiver lose connection. I’ve had numerous conversations with Hive support about this but their advice is vague and they don’t have the technical depth.

I think location of the three units is the issue but need advice on what might work better.

I’m in a standard 1930s terrace
Thermostat is on ground floor in rear extension
Hub is at front of ground floor approx 8m away from the thermostat, brick wall between them. Hub is hard wired into the main router for the house. It’s just under a metre away from it but kind of low to the floor.
Receiver and boiler are on the second floor in the loft. The receiver is pretty much directly above the hub but 6m away with two floors/ceiling between them.
I have a smart plug in a socket on the first floor vertically between the hub and receiver
We have Hive TRVs throughout on all the radiators.
We have routers on first and second floors towards the front of the house

I assume the thermostat and receiver both connect to and communicate with each other through the hub?

The location of thermostat and receiver are unchangeable. I can move the hub but I’m a bit limited as to where. And it feels like doing so will move it further away from either the thermostat or the receiver.

The smart plug was an attempt to bridge the gap to the receiver and i thought the trvs created a mesh too which would help but they aren’t Matter/Thread are they?
