Omega Lupa vs Yaqi caramel

I've heard some say nooooo they are miles different and omega is super synthetic.

And some say yaqi is almost the same but it's pricky.

My question is there any difference in the fiber ?

Because when I see pearl chubby or when i compare it to avino I see no difference except for the ivory handle.

Hell I don't even know if omega roma comes in a plastic one or is it resin. Is it worth 2700 ?

Is this just how indian razor market is ?

Recently seeing a lot of newbies asking what is a good razor under 500 and according to be most people recommend romer 7 , hajamat , pristine which is like same head on different handles except for the one that looks like a tech clone.

Then we have the usual viceroy , cs11 etc that has defects and if misaligned then your shave is disappointing.

Till date if theres a razor in zimac category that has impressed me from romer 7 it's shivira and then on the premium side it is kenem x adjustable and maybe rubab men adjustable but for some that's not what they can buy.

Bsc razor looks like a cheap no grip clone that is overpriced.

Romer 7 is a hit or miss .

Pearl is extremely mild it's almost like shaving with a credit card on my face.

What should we even recommend now 7sp basic one that's barely available ?

Boredum and just wanting to try out something totally different

I've been around almost here for more than a year.

I do have a huge collection but I'm not satisfied with it actually.

Its like I enjoy my yaqi heads but in my collection I have only 1 slant head.

I was thinking maybe a budget slant like parker would be nice to add.

On another hand I was thinking maybe i should spend a bit more and try yaqi tile head when it's on sale but I didn't want to burn a hole in my pocket.

Then we have this new head I've seen on the yaqi excel file named yaqi heritage. Very similar to gillette sterling head.

Anyways apart from this I've seen a lot of beginners are joining in and when they ask what should I buy I get confused myself.

When I first started my journey i remember using kenem x adjustable and being so satisfied that I said no more gillette.

The addiction grew , the cupboard became filled. But satisfaction has never come to a point where I say enough.

TLDR

I'm looking for a razor that I can suggest or get that's between 1k to 3k max and I can enjoy any blade and shave just in bliss.

A beautiful SOTD 4.09.26

Today actually happens to be my office's annual day . 2+ varsha aka 2+ saal merka isss lala company pey kaam karliya hai.

Decided not to go took the restricted holiday today and shaved.

Initially a lot of questioning from boss. Kyu nhi araha ho. You not arriving shows that you don't support the company etc yata yata yata .

Well what I've understood these lala companies are not even loyal as your razors and blades that your grandad use to use....

Anyways putting that aside warm water splash to wake up the wagie from his madness.

Decided to take the combination that works best 7sp black and shivira. Beautiful it's perfect.

Just the right blade gap along with sharpness and smoothness.

First pass with cella was wonderful. The cherry smell woke me up from the BS and brought me reality that I need a plan , fast to move out somewhere they will say Mr Huntsman it's a pleasure to have you.

2nd pass i realised to take time . Lathered well and felt smooth almost like a farmer cutting rice crop from his sickle .

ATG was wonderful , silent peaceful away from the noise.

Finished with alum dry down and a new batch of asl that I just brewed . The old one turned rancid because of the oils and water.

Beautiful raymond premium alcohol burn with menthol chill down finished with a touch of joys almond cream just small touch not to much.

The huntsman is ready now to face his journey to freedom from the lalas and beyond.

SOTD 29.08.26

Omega now that I've tried it second time I'm liking the cream. Super slick.

With the razor fixed i loaded gillette wilkinson sword.

Warm water and shaved first pass with the grain.

And the blade wasn't satisfying. Don't know why. Maybe should have loaded my usual silvermax.

Anyways shave felt smooth but a bit scratchy.

Finished with my own brew raymonds premium with menthol and witchhazel.

Solid burn applied almond cream by joys cosmetics. Very smooth and buttery. Helped heal the cuts. But we all know boroline is king.

Maybe i need to change my blades.

I currently have

  1. Gws 7sp black , green

  2. Willys

  3. Silvermax

  4. Saimax

  5. Winner

  6. Gws

  7. Mingshi blades

  8. Parker blades that came with razor.

Pearl blaze is currently selling for 3k something on Amazon.

Questions is it aggressive and a one passer ?

Let me know what value for money razor you can buy at that price. For me I feel better about getting an adjustable or razorrock ?

Need a razor buying guide advice

I've almost been lurking in this sub for I guess 2+ years straight and i enjoy it.

The razors , blades , creams , brushes techniques , people etc it's quite interesting how a simple routine can be an obsession that I only look forward to in my entire week.

But I see a problem. We don't have a dedicated guide as to how and what are the only razors you need.

For example is this mild buy a pearl L55,

Mid aggressive ? Spend more on parker slant ? Stella maybe ?

We often use Okies Blade Tracker but that too doesn't answer the question.

What are 4 razors that youd keep in your den provide you where

  1. Rich

  2. Rich Middle

  3. Middle

  4. Nearing middle

  5. Broke

A BSC shave with parker 74r

After my previous shave which left me unsatisfied. I learned my mistake.

Too sharp of a blade , dissipating lather and finally too hard of a brush.

This week was less stressful. Boss was on leave on Friday. Almost no work. And the shave went really nice in fact I'm mildly surprised.

Put a tub load of cream , made a slick lather and it cut wonderfully , maybe it's due to the thinness of the blade.

Felt mild but efficient. 3 decently smooth passes. I guess maybe due to menthol i do have some skin irritation.

Post shave was alum , raymonds premium (raw) and the balm.

Maybe the EDC was not needed but whatever.

Behind the window i could hear some arguments of some hotel worker / cook. He was saying meh pessa kaha sey bechdu batatho sahi ? Mera salary abhi bhi jama nahi huwa hai ......

It made me feel a sense of pity and fortune that atleast I have a roof , khapdha aur makkhan. Yet the struggle to be better , earn more , work harder but yet some lazyness , doubtfulness , kam ke stress and directionless....

But here we are to shaves that clear our minds !

Is aar perfumes legit ?

Hello fellow perfume addicts a newbie here. I was interested in getting my hands on this dupe . I don't want to bring the sub name here but my post was removed and for whatever reason it may be a lot of people were saying get it from this seller. I got it for 1600 etc .

My question is how can I trust perfume stores like this . And can I get this for less and even if I have to pay more max to 2k how can I get it for a good price and a trusted source.

u/TheWetshaverHuntsman — 2 months ago

Same 515 head but a different handle . What would you get ?

Yes I'm someone who like my razors aggressive. From shivira to adjustables to yaqi heads.

What I've understood is there's no razor that has the perfect aggression other than shivira ;)

Parker stella personally I think I need to give it another try with a milder blade I guess .

Pearl L55 I hate it. Parker 74r mild but I'm going to try it in my next shave.

So what are some Indian razors that have the bite ?

Here's what I've tried

  1. Shivira

  2. Cs11

  3. Romer 7 hybrid

  4. Romer 7 Ricardo

  5. Kenem x adjustable (simply amazing)

  6. Yaqi final cut (brilliant razor)

  7. Mingshi 5000s

  8. Pearl L55

  9. Parker stella

  10. Parker 74r

Yaqi heads

  1. Telsar

  2. Beast

  3. Slant

  4. The basic one i think it is cobbled .

Do let me know what's your go to razor.

Azadi ka shave 15/08/26

After a week's work and having had to work today also. I was in much need of a shave.

Took the stella and paired it with a 7sp black blade.

Lathered. I do not know why I got a lot of redness even in the initial passes. Bad blade ? Bad razor ? Too thin of a lather ?

Quite disappointed when compared to my previous shave with vicco. Boy that shave was perfect.

u/TheWetshaverHuntsman — 2 months ago

Vicco SoTD 9/8/26

Its like nothing can beat vicco for the price . See the lather in image 3 .

I've seen Danielle Mallu using his top of the line soap from the house of AE .

Yes it's soft , creamy lather. But vicco does the same. Its almost like everytime I come back to shaving with this cream. It makes me happy.

Chalo Kam sek kam ek brand badiya cream banata hai.

Old spice ? Its not even close i remember using it way back and it's lathering properties just suck. Sorry i may hate some old spice fans. But it just does lather.

I've also tried trigadon wild seas. Nice tin box. Terrible soap. Barely lathers.

The most expensive one in my collection is cella. And that I do enjoy. But pata nahi kya hai when I come back to vicco. The lather , smell and menthol feel. Its perfect.

Anyways. Setup has changed. Ive added a small mirror in the bathroom. Rather than shave in the hallway. Its peaceful but no space so need to be careful.

L55 with yaqi beast head with winner first pass was smooth with the perfect aggression.

I had seen this video from razor emporium where mat tries winner from India and he rates it a 3. Pata nahi kyu 3 diya but it's a decent blade it's sharp. But till date I havent found a blade that's as forgiving and comfortable as gws / silvermax .

Just 2 passes to avoid ingrown hair and irritation. Use alum followed by bscs asl and pws balm. Felt like glass .

A damn good shave.

Cella SOTD 01/08/26

Cella , in the small red container lid and the smiling felece face on the box showing that he's simply having a good time. I decided to pick it up after having a rough time at work.

I decided to take the synth out. And pared the 7sp black on second use.

Lathered with warm water . And first of the lather was slick , not as creamy as I wanted it to be like say shavalogist creamy like consistency or vicco. Note this soap is water hungry. So you need to keep the brush hydrated.

First pass with yaqi telstar head with romer 7 hybrid handle. And it was beautiful. Extremely smooth and controlled.

I felt i didn't need 2nd and 3rd pass but I proceeded because what the hell ...

Skin felt quite dry I did use alum stone instead of block. And i applied raymonds premium. This time no menthol or witch hazel. Just the alcohol.

Proper burn but felt good. 3 pats and felt smooth. Applied almond cream from joy ( no not joy bhai from yt channel ;) )

Was a nice , relaxed shave.

Safari Blues and to a new india SOTD 250726

I was really not in a mood to shave idk whether it's my laziness or whatever it was. I was interested in trying out soap so I proceeded. Hot water splash , scooped some out from the tub. Felt very slick and lathered. So creamy i should have added slightly more.

First pass felt wonderful with silvermax blade. Idk what it is with this razor. You can have a really nice shave quickly.

At this point I felt this soap should have some menthol. But some soaps don't require it I've heard that sometimes it can hinder the lather and irritate the skin.

Anyways. Second and third pass felt smooth like butta.

I was planning to add some crystals to the aftershave. But decided not to test how good the splash and balm is. Splash reminded me of my dad's david off cool water . Very dried down aquatic scent. Took a whiff poured some and applied. Wow dry down felt good.

I later used the skin food balm and this time it's amazing. Perfect thick balm like consistency with a good dispenser. I think atul needs to continue this design and it being 50ml small in size than the tub that use to have a runny consistency of liquid for kailash this is miles better.

A good shave to a new india with less paper leaks , better education and better shaves !

Lake swish is coming back !

I had previously given this razor to my cousin's brother's dad. He enjoys it thoroughly.

So much so I feel for the price it was a good razor. So wait for a while gentlemen.

u/TheWetshaverHuntsman — 3 months ago

Alum block vs Raw alum stone which is better ?

I usually use the standard alum block from rubab men. It's decent but provides heavy burns. And makes the skin incredibly dry.

I later got a absolute rock of a alum for 30rs from patanjali and that i almost face no burns what's so ever.

So is the rock form of alum the best ?

What is the best time to shave ?

Decided to take a leave today due to just overall work and not feeling well. I usually shave on a saturday because if I've worked all week . Saturday is shave day for me and I shave at 3pm or later because I get the house to myself while my parents are sleeping it's just much more peaceful that way.

Anyways coming to the video proraso says the best time is morning. I've seen people shave at night because that that's when your overall cortisol levels decrease because your body wants to sleep and making your skin less puffy exposing countors on skin better giving closer shave and more time to recover when you sleep.

Is this true or is just your shave time may vary just like YMMW ?

Shavalogist mail call

Finally got my hands on the new calibre 5 base with tallow.

I suprised seeing the packaging size. Yes skin food quantity has decreased but the quality is so so much better. The dispenser is lovely and a much needed requirement than the traditional tub .

The soap looks and smells like a cologne cella ;)

As for the aftershave haven't tried it and yet to shave with the set until next weekend. Which is all I care about right now.

For the money and value I feel quality has improved kudos to atul especially on the new skin food dispenser.
