[WoD] [V5] [EST] [Online][LGBTQ+][Neurodivergent] New ST looking for players new to the system too learn together.
I'm looking for players to start a chronicle in Vampire: The Masquerade 5th edition (V5). I'm new to the system, and pretty new to running games in general. I have a lot of anxiety around it, but I want to give it a try and the only way to make myself less nervous is to just do it.
A little about me. I'm a 38 year old queer, trans woman. I'm diagnosed ADHD with Anxiety and Depression. Also very likely on the autism spectrum, but never formally diagnosed. TTRPGs are kind of one of my hyperfocuses and the setting for V:tM has always been something that I've been drawn too. My experience is all with DnD 3/3.5 and 5e, as well as FFG Star Wars RPG. I treat rules more as guidelines than actual rules (Thank you Cpt. Barbosa). They provide framework, but if they get in the way of enjoyment or fun for the group, they can be selectively ignored (also known as I will likely irritate rules lawyers). I've only ran a couple of one-shots in the past so this is my first foray into an ongoing game, but I really want the challenge.
I'm ideally looking for 3-5 players who are new to the system, or even new to ttrpgs in general. Priority is to other LGBTQ+ Neurodivergents. I know there are a lot of people who are neither that are likely looking for games, but I'd like to create that safe space of shared/similar experiences among the group if possible.
I'm based in the US East Coast, so games will be Eastern Time. I'm targeting either weekly or bi-weekly game on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening with a target start of between 7 and 8 pm and a run time of 2-3 hours per session based on group preference.
Game will be played via Discord and Alchemy VTT. I want to do the game set up collaboratively as a group during session 0. That means the group will determine the type of game/story we want to tell together, as well as build characters and coterie together for a shared experience that we can build in links between characters and setting. I'm looking at Philadelphia as a potential city, but I'm not sold completely and am willing to shift if my final group prefers another area.
I'm gauging interest now and posting in a couple places. I will send out a more detailed questionnaire directly once people start expressing interest, and probably pull some people in to chat via discord once a group is more closely narrowed down.
