Benophie and birth control

We always wonder if Benophie will be pregnant or already with a child at the beginning of S5, but what if their subplot is actually them trying to get pregnant? Not with an infertility storyline, but them starting to try for a baby after 2 years of birth control.

All the couples so far got pregnant rather quickly, but what if Benedict and Sophie defied expectations (which would be on brand for them) and actually decided to have a couple of years just for themselves before having a baby?

Benedict is the second son, so there's no pressing need for an heir. Also, S4 made a point to show us that: 1) Benedict knows how to avoid pregnancy; 2) Sophie is aware of her cycle and knows how to track it; 3) Benedict and Sophie know how to have a good time without going all the way.

So I think them still being childfree at the beginning of S5 and only getting pregnant by the end of it is a real possibility. Also, there hasn't been a pregnancy reveal moment between a Bridgerton couple yet, and I'd love to get one with Benophie. Lukerin's acting would probably turn this scene into a masterpiece. ❤️

Benedict did want to find love

I was thinking about this scene between Benedict and Will Mondrich in S3E2 and I think it really shows how Benedict, deep down, wanted to find love one day. Even though he told Violet in S4E7 that for years he didn't understand love and even ran from it, I think that, by that point in S3, he already had a clear idea of the kind of love he wanted for himself. He just knew he wouldn't find it within the rules of the marriage mart. You can see the admiration he had for those couples and how he acknowledged that finding a (love) match meant freedom. And I love how he probably was, unbeknownst to him, foreshadowing his own future with Sophie – goofing around at balls, having a blast in their own little bubble (and we already saw a glimpse of that at the Queen's ball). ❤️

I also love how there was Benophie foreshadowing in all previous seasons: Granville's speech + Benedict telling Eloise that being from the working class doesn't make Genevieve less deserving of his attention in S1; Benedict's poem about admiring a woman in S2; and this conversation with Mondrich + the obvious nod to the masquerade ball in S3. Benophie, the ship that you are!
