Beginning Stages of First Purchase
First Time Poster on Reddit,
I have started browsing/researching in an effort to make a decision on purchasing an older model pickup. I’ve been looking around 70s-90s Chevy, Ford, and Dodge models. I’m not very savvy mechanically and was hoping to get some insight from those with more knowledge on things to watch for that the average joe might overlook when making such a purchase (spotting rust, engines to avoid, red flags, etc.). This will ideally be an automatic transmission, 4x4, both gas/diesel are fine, and extended/crew cab preferable but not a deal breaker. This will not be a daily but would use it as needed. I’d like to stay around $25k but open to exceeding for the right deal. The pics are not mine and solely for ideas/context. Anyway, thanks in advance for the insight.
