Old windows

Went out to my van and there was glass everywhere. Its parked in front of my house in a smaller town.

The females said to call the cops because they assume someone smashed it. Nothing is missing. I said what are the police gonna do about it -nothing they can do.

Its an '84; have old windows been know to blow up by themselves?

1979 F250 Supercab

This was my first truck. 1979 F250 Supercab long bed. Had a 400C and maybe got 10 miles to the gallon. My broke ass couldn’t fill one tank let alone both. I no longer have it unfortunately. More unfortunate was that my dumbass at 20 bought a way overpriced hunting rifle and ambassador fishing reels with the money I sold it for. Life lessons learned.

The International Wagonmaster was intended for fifth wheel towing. However, the fifth wheel being mounted at the extreme rear of the vehicle behind the rear axle produced dangerous handling characteristics when towing a fifth wheel trailer.

Just back from body work and paint. 1989 K1500

Had the cab corner rusted out as well as a couple spots in the bed. All fixed up and looking good. Bonus picture of the engine we dropped in last year. 5.7L crate engine.

Aftermarket or Factory Lights on 1977 F-250?

I’m working on getting the flashers functional. The truck has a flatbed with trailer LEDs that stay solid when you hit the turn signal. I’ve replaced what I thought were the front flasher bulbs and still can’t get them to illuminate so I’m trying to troubleshoot one step at a time and disconnected the rear LEDs.

I was able to get *a* turn signal to come on, just not the one I expected. My truck has small rectangular lights behind the grille that I assumed were running lights because they come on when I pull the headlight switch (see the arrow in the picture) but I was getting a slow blink for a few seconds then nothing.

Is this really the turn signal, or do I have a modified setup? And if so is it stock from 1977 or is it an aftermarket addition? They look like they could be from that era but I’m not positive.

Thanks guys!

I finished stripping and repainting my front wheels

I still need to remove the overspray from the tires, but I think they make the truck look much better already. I will probably work on the rear wheels this weekend and next week

International 1300 4x4 brushfire unit in Sedalia, MO. Looks 1978 orm1979 to me, but one of you experts can tell me what year it is for sure. It belongs to a local real estate agent and it looks like he shows/drives it.

Beginning Stages of First Purchase

First Time Poster on Reddit,

I have started browsing/researching in an effort to make a decision on purchasing an older model pickup. I’ve been looking around 70s-90s Chevy, Ford, and Dodge models. I’m not very savvy mechanically and was hoping to get some insight from those with more knowledge on things to watch for that the average joe might overlook when making such a purchase (spotting rust, engines to avoid, red flags, etc.). This will ideally be an automatic transmission, 4x4, both gas/diesel are fine, and extended/crew cab preferable but not a deal breaker. This will not be a daily but would use it as needed. I’d like to stay around $25k but open to exceeding for the right deal. The pics are not mine and solely for ideas/context. Anyway, thanks in advance for the insight.

Signed,

76 GMC Sierra

My brother passed away and left me his 76 GMC Sierra. Is this considered a classic? I only joined this sub to ask some questions about it. If it's not then I'll go to a different sub. If it is I'd like to get some thoughts on swapping out the engine and tranny and putting a camper on it. Thanks all!

Question about components under the hood of 1977 F250

Hey everyone, I recently bought my first classic truck, a 1977 F250, and I’m getting a lay of the land. There are a couple of components that after going through the manuals I have, I’m still unsure what they are. The one on the driver side had two clipped wires coming from the studs that I removed.

Thanks in advance!
