Mixed feelings as people celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence where it’s stated that all people are equal. But all along some people have always been “more equal than others.” Still, I do feel hopeful that things will improve in this grand experiment.
For the last few years I’ve been navigating life with chronic illness, and for a while there it wasn’t pretty. I went through the stages of grief as I lost a lot of things that I thought were important to me in the process. For a time I wasn’t really caring for myself due to a lack of energy and bandwidth. Over the last 6 months I’ve been slowly getting a little better and I’ve learned how to better accommodate this change in my life. I decided that I wanted to incorporate a good self-care routine and I’m so glad I found this hobby and this community! It’s helping me to take more pride in myself.

Picked up what I believe is a Gillette Fatboy at a local vintage thrift store for $14 today. It’s in pretty good shape and it’s the first time I’ve used an adjustable razor. Also since my last post I used some chemical glass etching cream on the bowl because it was a bit slippery when wet, and now it’s 👌🏻 just right. I love the frosted look.

I really like the Caveem. It shaves so well (for me) but I’d love recommendations for something of higher quality but with a very similar feel and profile (my budget is around $75US).
