Posting pictures of lost IDs is no longer allowed.

Please note Rule 3 - No personal information. Because IDs contain personal information, posting pictures of them is not allowed. This includes if you censor the numbers - leaving just the name and picture is also disallowed.

Additionally, it is not necessary to make a post about a lost ID if you find one. You have two better options:

  1. Turn the ID in to any lost and found at UIC. The best option is probably the SCE lost and found. They should reach out and contact the owner.

  2. If for some reason you can't do #1, email the person directly. You can associate an email with a name using the directory: https://www.uic.edu/apps/find-people/search

Can I get into UIC? I believe this is the greatest university of all time.

Stats: 4.0 GPA unweighted, 42 AP classes, in-state.

I want to major in Economics. Do you think I can get in?

[W] [US-IL] 4U ATX case with >12 3.5" drive bays

I recently came into possession of 12 8TB drives, so naturally I need a case to put them in. I plan to use my X470 board and some GPUs so I need a 4U case. 12 3.5" slots minimum, 16 preferred. Located in Chicago but willing to drive a fair bit for a fair deal.

I'm talking about these things.

If I'm thinking about this correctly:

The rollers in a cylindrical roller bearing in a thrust bearing must have slippage along their length. If the cylinder were to rotate perfectly along its length without slipping, it would mean the outside of the cylinder bearing would have to spin faster since it is travelling the larger outer circumference in the same amount of time as the smaller inner circumference. Since the cylinder is a rigid body, there must be slippage at every point except one.

Presumably, this is why tapered roller thrust bearings exist, but why is this not a problem for cylindrical roller thrust bearings? Additionally, what is the advantage that cylindrical roller thrust bearings provide over tapered ones?
