The shed - ADU - Yard Bar update

Ladies and gentlemen we are officially dried in (after 4 months) . Tons left to do on the interior but it's been quite the project up to this point. Gaining respect for the tradesmen as I tackle electrical and plumbing in 100 degree heat.

Looking forward to subbing out some of the interior work (drywall and spray foam insulation). It is a great sauna for now though.

12/2 has been pulled to all the outlets. 10/2 for the mini split and hot water heater are getting pulled tonight and 14/2 will be going in for the lights at some point this week.

Ever seen a blind dog fetch?

We don't know how blind he is but he's been like this since we've had him. The man lives to fetch though. Our best approximation is he can see some shadows but not much else. He knows he can drop the toy when he's out of the grass so delayed outs are par for the course with him.

Skypesos are worthless .... most of the time

Got notified for a flight deal today over a timespan that worked for us pretty well. Shortly after I had two round trip flights from ATL to Brisbane booked for 88k (actually 84k) total skymiles plus taxes.

I had these miles booked marked for California which was roughly 1.5 times the miles for the same dates.

Yard Bar - Booze Barn - Reddit Commentator Claimed "ADU"

Weekend laborer following along with progress shots since we finished out framing and passed our first government mandated inspection on the structure itself. Had a vacation and work travel sandwiched in between now and the last post.

Door should be installed next weekend as it's way too damn hot outside for working past 10AM. Past this point I'm subbing out the roofing and the siding installs and focusing my time and effort on the electrical and plumbing (and weed cleanup).

If you are planning on installing forcefield just pay the premium for the yellow tape. The grey tape is flimsy and just does not inspire any confidence.

Progress slowly but surely

Pretty much only able to work weekends on it but we're getting there. Just need to hang my sub fasica on the front and toss my 6 inch overhangs on the sides then it's time to sheath it up and put in windows and the door. We'll see what the weather is like this long weekend may get it all done then.

Side wall spacing of studs was off but we'll fix that in post!

We're finally into framing after months of site prep, layout and waiting. Still need to go back and finish some blocking, headers and top plates but we ran out of energy yesterday.

Hopefully can get the rafters on next weekend then start drying it in.

16x24. 8 foot back wall to a 12 foot front wall. Permitted due to size and the hope that our county changes ADU laws.
