Episode 290 - The 100 Most Streamed Songs

I’ve been a BRG since day 1. This episode, which I never see mentioned, is my favorite. The concept is simple - the boys go through a playlist of the 100 most streamed Spotify songs and riff away.

It’s got that “golden era” ANUS feel with Owen and Jeff D Lowe. Say what you will about Owen’s other ventures, but he was great in his role with ANUS.

This episode also has arguably my favorite bit in ANUS history with “taking Billie Eilish to prom”. KB calling Selena Gomez a “moon-faced bitch” always gets me too. And who could forget Nicky introducing the world to “Crab-Core”.

People are always asking for episode suggestions, so here ya go. Must listen/watch for any ANUS fan.

18 week old Geno

I have wanted an NFC for as long as I can remember. All our previous cats have come from shelters, but about a year ago I put my name on a list with a breeder. After a long wait, we finally brought home this little guy a few weeks ago. I love the little “murps and chirps” that he makes.

All-Time Reds Team in N64 Griffey

I have been playing the original Griffey baseball on the N64 (not Slugfest) since its release. During COVID I started a 162 game season and finally finished it last fall. I would typically break it out sometime early during baseball season, play 40 games or so, get bored of winning every game 26-1, and put it away until next season.

In my most recent season I went 160-2 and won the World Series. For those who have never played a full season of Griffey on the N64, which I imagine is most/all reading this, the difficulty is a funny thing. The first half of the season you absolutely slaughter opponents, as the nonadjustable difficulty settings seem to be on easy. Then eventually the game tightens up, and by the end of the season most games are 2-0 and losing is a very real possibility.

Anyway, my theme for this seasons roster composition was “Fun Reds”. Not necessarily just the best players, just ones who were memorable to me. The game is easy enough as is, so I didn’t need Griffey in my lineup smashing 94 HRs, and tried to keep the lineup realistic.

Anyway, the roster I came up with is as follows. Keep in mind these players ratings are based off the 1997 season, going into 1998.

Starters:

C - Joe Oliver

1B - Hal Morris

2B - Brett Boone

3B - Scott Rolen

SS - Barry Larkin

LF - Dante Bichette

CF - Eric Davis

RF - Greg Vaughn

Bench:

Kelly Stinnett

Mike Cameron

Wilton Guerrero

Joe Randa

Deion Sanders

Reggie Sanders

Rotation:

#1 Denny Neagle

#2 Joey Hamilton

#3 Paul Wilson

#4 Jimmy Haynes

#5 Pete Harnisch

Bullpen:

Danny Graves

Eddie Guardado

Mark Wohlers

Arthur Rhodes

Jeff Brantley

Will provide an update in 2032 with season results!
