Epic Find !

Just found a few hours ago for $.98!!!!

I own quite a few items from this old Target line.

I have four of the matching green teacup and saucers as well as the pink teacup and saucers. I even have the original boxes they came in!

I also have the one that us vertically striped in oranges and maroons that is an almost perfect Howard Holt imitation as well.

And now this style! Drinking lavender lemonade from the new one trying to stay cool in my basement with the doggo.

And before anyone says anything, these mugs are too awesome to only use over the holidays!

Happy hunting y'all!

An Old Friend...

A long, long time ago (2003) in a galaxy far, far away (my 20's), I was a lowly office clerk in a tiny office.

During the holidays our director received a Starbucks corporate gift. It had two of these mugs and a pound of coffee.

She put the coffee out for everyone to enjoy and put the mugs in a cupboard.

Back then I hadn't developed my love for mugs, but the minute I saw these cute little mugs in the cabinet I fell in love and just adopted one. Years later when I left I took it with me.

It brings back good memories every time I use it. I was just taking my first timid steps into adulthood and it felt like the entire world was opening before me.

Twenty three years, I've kept this little one safe and loved.

One white whale acquired!

I'm lovin' it!

Next up, hunting for a Fire King Exxon Tiger mug. I've found a few online, just waiting for a decent price.

Just looking for some really basic help.

I've always had fine, thin hair. About five years ago I bought a few wigs and some of them looked really good on me, but I had the same issues with all of them so I just stopped using them out of embarrassment/issues.

I'm now in full blown perimenopause and my hair is getting thinner and finer and is falling out. I'm starting to develop noticeably sparse areas on my head. I would like to start wearing wigs again but I want to do a better job of understanding wig basics.

The main issues I struggled with:

  1. I could never figure out how to keep the wig from moving around. I tried using Bobby pins to keep it from sliding around but no matter how many I used it never secured the wigs. In fact they would push out of the wig after a few hours. I even bought one of those wig "pads" that supposedly made them stay in place and that made the wig even more obvious.
  1. Wig caps. No matter what I did or what brand I tried, I would put a wig cap on and in less than 15 minutes, basically the minute I moved my head it would immediately whip off under the wig and gather in a bunch at the back of my head. It was like they were too tight and just snapped. How the heck do you keep these on your head?

  2. Not as important but I'll take any suggestions. I find wigs, extremely hot and itchy and uncomfortable. (Full Disclosure: I've only bought synthetic wigs and I'm sure human hair wigs are much more comfortable, but 💰💰💰💰). Are there any tips you have for making them a little more comfortable to wear?

Thank you for any advice from a very sad, balding, desperate woman who just wants to feel not as old and ugly as she is.
