Might seem counter intuitive cause of the restart mechanics but the portal changes things up.

Basically if you are constantly dying in a biome, first level up your skill tree so your starting stats are high/good or even maxed out for that tree until you reach the tree block. If you are still struggling start at one biome earlier.

What this will do is make you over powered for that biome so you will be able to actually move through it pretty easily. This will raise up your profeciency and give you some starting good activasions. By the time you are you at the biome you are struggling with you will also be overpowered for that biome to make it also easier. I was able to beat the second boss pretty easily after dying a bunch by starting off at max character in biome one. By the time I reached biome too my proficiency was already higher than the games recommended procecieny level for that biome
