The Wyrdlights

"The Wyrdlights is not a precise location but a stretch of the Gnarlwood haunted by immense, crackling orbs. Appearing seemingly at random, these eerie spheres unleash flickering tendrils of energy that mutate everything they touch. This phenomenon causes openings to appear in the thick undergrowth, passages that are tempting to exhausted travellers searching for a direct route to Talaxis – until they discover the horrors that await them on the other side. Even the forest seems to retreat wherever the Wyrdlights shine. Petrified gnarloaks are transformed into writhing tentacles of silver and luckless adventurers into screaming statues of crystal. The predators that roam here are horrifyingly warped with extra limbs and pulsating growths jutting from their skulls. Indeed, such is the intense aura of magic radiated by these strange orbs that time itself is distorted beyond all sense; there are tales of warbands that have emerged from the Wyrdlights to discover that a journey they believed took mere hours in fact lasted over a decade."

The Procession of the Pink Moon

The Procession of the Pink Moon are a Gloomspite cult built around a deeply stupid, deeply sincere conclusion drawn from watching mortals.

They have seen humans marry people to people, houses to houses, kings to land, bloodlines to claims, and oaths to gods. They do not understand marriage as love, partnership, or even politics. They understand it as a trap with witnesses.

So when a total lunar eclipse reveals what they believe is a hidden Pink Face of the Bad Moon, they decide the obvious thing to do is marry it before it can leave.

The Pink Moon Wedding is an attempted binding rite performed with the borrowed shape of a mortal wedding and almost none of the meaning intact. The Bride is usually a grot painted in blossom colors and carried like a sacred object; the Groom is usually a colossal squig dragged, armored, and driven into the moonlight.

The Petaloons provide petals, bells, fungus, witnesses, noise, and casualties because those are the parts of weddings they understand. They do not seem especially concerned with whether the Bride and Groom belong to one another, only that the proper figures have been presented, the vows have been aimed at the sky, and the Pink Moon has been caught before it can turn its face away.
