First time to UK - solo female traveller - sept visit

Hi all,

I have browsed this space for the past 3-4 days, please forgive my lack of knowledge still as I'm pretty overwhelmed with all the info! Can I please have the help of the lovely people on here to help create my itinerary, intend to visit first 2 weeks of sept.

About myself and this trip: i'm a pretty paranoid person so safety is paramount, please tell me if any areas to avoid or if late night is not safe for women alone. Secondly, I'm taking this trip after a pretty exhausting and tough year so far so I want to relax, chill and see new things which make me happy. I don't want a crazy itinerary but also don't want to completely wing it as I've been excited about this trip for years! I also only want to be in places with public transport, don't want to get a car.

I love scenic places, I love window shopping (or shopping!), exploring fun neighbourhoods, I'm excited about exploring a couple of museums and palaces/castles.

I really wanted to go to Cotswolds but I've heard it's not worth it if you don't have a car to drive around. Any suggestions? I'd love to stay in a cozy countryside pretty cottage kind of place.

Here's the skeleton I have so far:

Land in Edinburgh - 3 nights.

- Can I do Isle of Skye in 3 days, is it easy to get to with public transport?
- Edinburgh Castle, Loch Lormond

Bristol

- take a train, stay for 1 night, 2 days with a colleague.

Take train to London

5-6 nights in London

- Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, British Museum, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Borough Market/Camden market
- from where to where should i take an uber boat?

- Areas I've found that would be nice to explore: Marleybone, Covent Garden, West End

I am also a foodie so what are some restaurants (loved by locals), that I absolutely must try?

Let me know if I'm approaching this wrong, if I missed something out, any other reccs that are important etc. I also apologise in advance for how all over the place this is.

First car - Nissan Magnite 2025 - Insurance

Hi all, thanks for helping before with my question on my first car. I found a Nissan Magnite driven 20K in a great price so proceeding with that. Getting the PPI done.

Next step: insurance. It's my first car, i'm 25 year old at the moment and my license is new (3 months old). The insurance landscape is very confusing and overwhelming - can someone please help me with which kind of insurance I should go for, who are the best providers etc?

So far I've seen GIG, Liva and Sukoon recommended everywhere.

Thanks

F25 - First car - Nissan Kicks

Hi,

I'm going for a viewing of 2024 Nissan Kicks and 2023 Hyundai Accent. It's my first car.

Both are private sellers and the kicks deal is too good to be true - to insulate myself from any scam I will be getting the external inspection done and get the RTA report too.

Is there anything else I should do to protect myself from scams in the process of buying a used car? I absolutely have no idea about cars so I imagine i'm in the top percentile for most likely to get scammed.

26 F - Pakistani passport, UAE Resident First Tourist Visa application

Hi,

I'm applying for my first tourist visa. I have previously gotten a schengen visa as well - my current concern is that I lended my friend through bank transfer amount of 30K aed which they returned as cash and I deposited back into acc. This will get flagged so I will explain in cover letter. Is that OK?

Also, should your expenditure for the trip in UK be lesser than your average monthly expenditure?

Any other important tips for approval?

Visa Cancel Email from MOHRE: Regarding degree requirements , need advice

Hello I recently got an email from mohre with my pro/employer copied. It says that I am not meeting the university degree requirements and hence may need to submit a cancellation. I am slighly confused and needed advice and help from anyone who may have faced this.

For context: My skilled work visa is already approved, and 1 year has passed since I am in the same org. All my degrees etc. are attested and valid. Hence, I do not get what was flagged here. Please offer any general help or advice.
