Parking to block sidewalk in suburban neighborhood

Parking to block sidewalk in suburban neighborhood

So many recent arrivals to my neighborhood have no respect for the concept of keeping the sidewalk clear for pedestrians. Lots of people use the sidewalk - people with strollers, walkers, and even a wheel chair. Not to mention lots of pedestrians. And yet so many people block the sidewalk partially or even fully.

I’m not above knocking on doors to ask people to move their vehicles despite the vacant stares I get. Sure, I’m the neighborhood crank because I think the public sidewalk is for everyone to use.

Little House trip this summer

A friend and I are discussing a Little House trip for this summer. She lives in Toronto, I’ll be driving from California. So far we have a plan to start in Pépin, then to Walnut Grove and on to De Smet. I’ll probably head on to Mansfield solo when she heads back home.

Has anyone done this kind of trip? Any suggestions for us?
