Update from yesterday!

So people who wanted to know what this was yesterday. It turns out he was bitten by a wolf spider and that actually was the entire reason for the infection where he almost died a week before that we had no clue about we had him on antibiotics and everything became OK after ungodly amount of money then his neck went down because it was swollen for a little bit but then all of a sudden like a week later we seen this growth on his neck and we were wondering what it was so I posted yesterday asking people what it was but that we went to finally says it was a wolf spider bite that the wolf spider bite was what caused the entire thing to begin with and he said that thing on his neck will fall out eventually and you’ll just see the muscle so that’s crazy I didn’t know that at all but yeah just so people know for the future this is what a spider bite looks like when it’s done with… he also gave us some spray to spray on it 6 to 7 times a day but yeah he said that will eventually fall out

We are MASSIVELY UNDERSELLING OURSELVES! 😭😭

So I’m gonna go kind of anonymous here and I’m not gonna name any brands by name, but I’ve been a content creator for just about as long as it’s been a job, so I have immense experience and I know what I’m talking about. I think the industry is becoming so ruined because mainly people who are just starting out are being forced to kind of go into these apps that pay literal pennies on the dollar for what your content is worth in actuality.
For example, you have sites like Billo or even Coley (I’ve been forced to work with these platforms like most other people, and I will admit I was once like you, a person who made the same mistakes) who charge what at the most maybe $100 for a video that you make that this brand will now use for years. They take parts of your video like this and edit it into other parts of commercials (I like to call them that even though it’s social media) over and over again, and potentially are making thousands and thousands, or hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue or reach just off the sheer luck of a video going viral.
Now some of the brands would probably say, well not every video goes viral, it’s like taking a chance. Well that’s nice and all, it’s true but really not as much, and I don’t have much sympathy when, oh well you lost $100 compared to that one video that hits and gets hundreds of thousands of dollars. Where is the creator’s lucrative cut or risk to make that much money? Or even a fraction of it? It’s not there and it never will be because we’re massively underselling ourselves short for the amount our videos have potential to make these companies.
Also most of the time the brands and the clients are not going to tell you or show you or maybe even get back in touch with you and say, hey this video did really really really really well for me, I would like another video please or etc.
So I really maybe not putting this in the best context, but for what we charge and what the brand stands to make… I just think we are massively underselling ourselves short. And of course I do not intend to split the 50-50 profit with a brand, but our percentage should definitely be way way way way higher (is that enough “ways” to get my point across?).
Now I say all this because I just recently had a brand reach out to me because a video of mine that I did on Billo for them has blown up massively and made them so much money it’s probably not even funny. I know this beforehand because it’s one of the videos I would be sent by everybody in my life, so when you have those kind of videos you know that it’s being played everywhere. And this happened over 4-5 years — they were running my video for four or five years and obviously it was incredibly successful. However they chose to do it and run it, I’m not privy to, but I do know it was insanely successful. So of course they reached back out to me, and if I wouldn’t have known that then when we negotiated like we did recently I wouldn’t have been able to get or even thought to make my price for the content as high as I did, which by the way was accepted first offer no questions asked, so they really had no problem with the amount I charged and we’re happy to pay it. That tells you everything you need to know.
Now I just voice texted all of this so I am going to ask AI to fix my punctuation and stuff like that but I’m gonna leave all my words original pretty much. Just a FYI, thank you guys. What do you think?

We are underselling ourselves massively from every end but the lowest tier will always be the issue.
